Last week’s topic was: Show us your year in bling!
Believe it or not, I did run 34 races this year (and only one was virtual).

My favorite awards, however, were not medals but usable items such as glasses, hat, gloves.
And remember, the older you are, the better your chance of winning in your age group. You don’t have to be fast to win. Sometimes, you just have to show up!
Happy Running! Did you run many races this year? What is your favorite bling from 2022? Please share.
Since today is Tuesday, I’m linking up with Zenaida and Kim (Kooky Runner).
with co-hosts Coach Debbie Runs, Confessions of a Mother Runner, Mile by Mile, Runs with Pugs, and Laura Norris Running.
That’s impressive, both that many races and that many AG wins! Way to go, Darlene!
My favorite bling would be the only medal I got from the three races I ran. The Catching Fireflies 5k medal was cute. I did purchase socks at the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile expo, which I really love, but I don’t think they count as bling since I bought them myself.

Thanks. And yes, your medal was very cute and when you don’t run a lot races, the bling is probably more meaningful.

That’s so impressive, Darlene! You’re inspiring me to run a few more races next year. And I agree, give me most anything instead of another medal for an age group win. My favorite awards are running store gift cards.

What in the world do you do with all your medals??? I agree- I like non-medal awards much better. You won a lot of AG awards this year! You’re probably drinking exclusively out of your prize glasses.

I do use my glasses.
I have a few racks for my half marathons but now they’re full.

I love getting other items, like glasses, from races! Only 1 medal for me this year, and it was a big race so no AG award. Congrats on all your races and AG awards!

It’s hard to get an AG award in a big race. Mine were all small ones
