It’s that time of the month…
to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.
1.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that April is becoming a busy running month. A half marathon, a 5 mile race and a 15k.

April 13
Yikes.
I guess it’s racing season in the NE.
Does your racing pick up this time of year?
2.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that six of us Sole Sisters (originally there were 7 but one got hurt 😦 ) are planning a girls weekend in NYC.
We already have tix to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Prospect Park, Avenue Q on Broadway and several restaurant reservations.
Oh yeah, there’s also a race in there somewhere.

April 27
Do you like to go on girls weekends away? Do they always involve running?
3.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that we have a new kitten (We got him March 2). It’s not-running related but whatever. He hid for the first two weeks we had him and then he only came out at night. Still skittish but getting better.
He came with the name Meow Meow but we changed it to Champ (because he came in a Champion shoe box). See it is running-related LOL
We had 2 cats die this year. When your pets die, do you immediately replace them?
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I always say that I am ONE and done when I run a half marathon. But I enjoyed the NYC Half so much, I secretly wished that I had “raced” it and got a fast enough time for 2020.
Hopefully, I can run it again when I’m 70 (the qualifying time is much slower).
Do you repeat big races?
5.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that at that Tennis National Qualifier that my hubby went to the same weekend I ran a half marathon in Florida, his team WON!
Normally, I would be excited because now the team gets to go to Nationals in Palm Springs, CA. I would have loved to go too (and I have a good friend who lives there.)
What weekend is the tennis tournament scheduled for?
Nov 2-4, 2019!!!!
Nov. 3, 2019
Should I insist that my hubby come to NYC instead of playing tennis?
It’s also Friday so I’m also linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five linkup! Join in! Don’t forget to link back to your hostess and visit some other bloggers.
Happy Running! Got anything to spill? Share it here!
Aw, I’m so happy you got a new kitty! In my family, we often get a new pet pretty shortly after we lose one. A house just isn’t a home without pets!

I agree. But the older cat does not agree. I hope she comes around.

Champ is a cutie! Glad he’s settling in. I’d let your hubby make his own decision on NYCM. What a bummer there’s already a conflict on that date.

I will. He will definitely go to CA. I don’t blame him.

Congrats to your husband!
Champ is really cute.
I would love to replace Gizmo, but no, I don’t just automatically replace the furkids, and now is just not the right time for us to bring in a new cat. Not that I haven’t been tempted . . . there was a cat on the pet connection the other day I really wanted .. . .

You do have 2 dogs. That’s a lot to take care of. Cats are easy…though this one, not so much and Honey is NOT accepting right now.

Not all dogs are hard (although definitely harder than a cat) — the hard ones seem to find me.
It takes time for cats to get along, but they almost always do. Puss (who was 16 at the time) was not at all pleased to have to share the house with 2 kittens.
They all found their space — she got the second bathroom & my office, the boys basically had the rest of the house!

I’ll be easier when it warms up. My cats are always outdoor animals. I think Champ will love it.

We had our kennel, so the boys spent many happy hours outside but were still mostly protected. We’re about to repurpose it for the dogs. It’s built from panels meant for a dog kennel anyway!

Should be a busy month. Though I kinda wish I was training for one… it should be fun anyway esp the last one.

Your new kitty is adorable! I hope he becomes less skittish as he gets used to you and your hubby.
Your girls weekend sounds wonderful! I used to do a lot of weekends away with girlfriends, but haven’t done any in years. I don’t know why. Now it seems like it would just be weird going away without Hubby. He runs most of the same races I do.

That’s because your hubby runs. Whole different story.

This time of the year is so busy for racing! It seems like so many of the good ones are all on the same weekends. Love the girls weekends with races! Thanks for joining for coffee

Yes. Many races each weekend to choose from.

Aw, cute kitty! Non-running topics are A-OK for our coffee dates! Your girls weekend sounds fun.

I love going on a girls weekend, but it’s never about running. More about spending time together and eating…
And I’m sorry for your cats! When we needed to put down our first dog we wanted to wait with buying a new one, but the house was so empty, so we waited ‘just’ 3 months.

I agree. Running is the excuse but the fun is had by other stuff.

Champ is precious!
I am with you about half marathons! I also don’t run the same race twice…although I have a race that I feel needs some redemption, so I just might run that again one day 🙂
