It’s that time of the month…
to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I am bummed. One of my favorite local races has been discontinued. The one that you run 10 miles along Lake George and end up next to the marina where we keep our boat.

my first Adirondack Distance Run (that’s my hubby who is always at the finish line of this race)

My last Adirondack Distance Run
Ever have a race that you love cancelled?
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that they replaced the above race with a 15K that begins at a college, goes on the bike path instead of along the lake and ends up at the Battle Field.
My friend Sue is one of the race directors so yes, I signed up (reluctantly).
I hope I don’t regret my decision.
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I was very hesitant about signing up to run the Brooklyn Half Marathon for many reasons (date, location, work schedule, hubby’s b-day, boating, etc.)
I was tempted to just run a new local race (Jog for Jugs Half Marathon).
But Carpe Diem hit me and at noon on January 31st, I clicked “Register” (secretly hoping that I wouldn’t get in.)
Of course I GOT IN!!! And so did my friend Sue who will be sharing a hotel room with me.

together again!
Anyone else running this race? I’d love to meet up.
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that for my fourth year in a row, I was selected as a Skirt Sport Ambassador Captain. I love this company, its ambassador network as well as its products. So I am very proud to represent and promote them.
Anyone else love Skirt Sports like me? Are you an ambassador too?
Over coffee…
I’d tell that I have so many of their skirts that I really need no more. So I will refrain from buying ALL the new prints. Help me out and you buy some them!! LOL.

Over coffee…
I’d tell you that my first half marathon of 2018 that is in 6 weeks has been CANCELLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 17, 2018
I was supposed to run across this beautiful bridge 4 times (miles 1,2,11,12).
So I am going to reluctantly continue my training…
Ever have a race as part of a race-cation cancelled?
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that this race was supposed to be my 30th half marathon and that was pretty exciting. I am escaping the polar vortex and visiting some good friends who live in Florida as well as some who are visiting at the same time.
I hope to have similar adventures to last year:
Yes, the race was going to be secondary and having fun is always my primary goal.
But seriously, this SUCKS!!
Happy Running!Got anything to spill? Share it here!
That sucks that they discontinued one of your favorite races! :[ Lake George is gorgeous, and I can definitely see why you’d like it there! I hope the one you replaced it with will still be a lot of fun! Congrats on being a Skirt Sports ambassador! ❤

I know when they cancel a race its because of safety issues. Not much you can do.

Surely there’s another half somewhere not too far? Or even a shorter race? Doesn’t have to be a half, right?
So far, knock on wood, I’ve been lucky with my racecations — never had a race canceled although I’ve come awfully close to DNS multiple times because of my Dad, which is always stressful.

You are lucky. I’ve had cancelled flights cost me to 2 races too.

Yes, I’ve been lucky with travel. But it also helps to have the flexibility to treat it as a vacation and make sure there’s extra time.
Then again, I’ve lots of family stress right before a race — multiple times. Not so fun, either.

Cancelling a race when you have arranged a holiday around it is pretty bad! I’d be a bit unhappy about that!

No fun that they canceled your favorite race! That is definitely disappointing.
Good luck with the Brooklyn Half! That’s my favorite borough to run in during the NYC Marathon. Definitely filled with great folks.
And, glad you’re back as a fellow Skirt Sports Ambassador Captain! Love Skirt Sports especially because of the people. The community is like no other. 🙂

I’m excited about Brooklyn. Not happy about Fla.

What the heck with the races being cancelled?? That really stinks, especially the Florida one. I’d be pretty mad.
Woohoo for getting into the Brooklyn half, although I have to say, the Jog for Jugs sounded pretty interesting based on the name alone, LOL. You’ll have fun running in Brooklyn, for sure.

Yes. It’s to raise money for breast cancer 🙂
I am mad. But not much I can do.

That stinks that you have these race cancellations happening! When I did ZOOMA Cape Cod I thought it was going to be a racecation and then they changed the format of the event…we made the most of it but it definitely soured my experience.
The Brooklyn Half sounds awesome – I keep missing out on these lottery race opportunities in NYC!

I was registered for the Zooma half but backed out when they changed it to a fun 10k.
Brooklyn was first come first served. It sells out fast.

I’m so sorry about your half marathon getting cancelled! I have run a few that I’ve really liked that were later discontinued. But then, there always seems to be new ones to make up for it. Congrats on getting into the Brooklyn Half. I hope your luck rubs off on me!

Hope you get into the marathon that you want. Mine was first come first served.

It really isn’t fun or cool when one of your races gets cancelled! I was supposed to run a race in Boston and it was cancelled. I was so upset because I wanted to be able to check another state off my list!
It’s also no fun when your favorite local race gets cancelled! I believe mine is as well because no one has heard anything about it. I am typically an ambassador for it and even I haven’t heard anything and I typically know in November.

That would really piss me off if I had a 50 state goal.
