No surprise that I have a lot of races scheduled this Fall.
Last weekend a 10k and yesterday a 5k.
Last Week-
- Sunday – Unfortunately it was too cold and rainy to go on our boat. I tried to make the best of the weather. I went to the gym…
then to MIL’s to celebrate her 101st birthday…
And finally a trip to the mall to walk off all those lunch calories.
- Monday – I got up early to get in a run…it was raining… but there looked to be a break in the weather… Off I went and yes, it started to rain again but happily stopped!!
Phew, after I was done, it continued to rain the rest of the day.
In the afternoon, I had an appt to see my chiro (since my lower back was bothering me during my race on Saturday) but I had to cancel due to work stuff.
- Tuesday – No time in the morning and I had to go to my office in the afternoon so after work I met my BFF for a walk…(my only workout for the day.)
- Wednesday – Live teaching today and a super early start… it was even a challenge to get my Starbucks.
After work was the 3rd meeting of the STEM group. I got there a little to add more steps to my day.

up to 3 min running! and this run felt better than previous weeks despite standing from 7-am-4pm at work
- Thursday – Back to WFH … gym first thing
After work, ARE (our local running club) was celebrating its birthday so they organized a 5k followed by dinner.
- Friday- A busy wfh day.. no time for any fitness activity.
I joined my friends for mah jongg in the evening.
- Saturday – Barn to Bridge 5k.
But first, I had to make a sad trip with my new cat, Dali. I’ve mentioned how she hates my other 2 cats and hides from my hubby. It’s been over 4 months and it’s obvious that it is not working. I advertised on the NextDoor app that I needed to rehome her. A former student of mine replied and said that her son & his girlfriend would take her.
I delivered Dali to them… I hope she will be happier there.
Back to the race.
I’ve run this 5k race many times so I was familiar with the late start (11 am), parking logistics, etc…
If you were in good shape, it was a PR type of course…
I was happy to finish, chat with friends, enjoy the free refreshments…
I had parked at the start but instead of taking the shuttle, I ran/walked back to my car (Long run done!)
In the evening, I attended a fundraiser for Orange Street Cats (the organization that I adopted one of my cats from).
- Sunday – Gym and hopefully some lake time… (weather dependent)
This Coming Week on the Run –
