It’s that time of the month…
time to join up with Coco & Deborah
for their ultimate coffee date.
1. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I’ve run 18 in-person races so far this year (I think I need to buy the mug above)… and I enjoyed each one!!
2.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that the most that I ever raced in one year was in 2016 and that was 41 races.
And NO, I don’t plan to beat that this year.
3.Over coffee/wine…
I’d tell you that I registered for TWO races in the same weekend.
First I signed up for a (fun) Trail 5k. Then a 15k got scheduled the day before (Saturday).
My Hubby and I try to reserve Sunday in the summer for boating. Otherwise, it would not have been an issue to run both races. (I have in the past run two races in the same weekend.)
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that it’s a dilemma when only one brand of shoes that doesn’t hurt your feet doesn’t come in pretty colors (FOMO on those Brooks shoes.)
I wear Topo Phantoms for half marathons and Topo Cyclones for 5ks. I also wear the Magnifly or Ultrafly for training/easy runs.
White for both the Phantoms and the Cyclones!!!
5.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I didn’t realize how much I missed NYC until my recent work trip. Central Park was amazing to run in (as you already know from Cari‘s FB/IG pics)…
I’m looking forward to next Wednesday and Thursday when I’ll get to do more exploring/running there. (Since I am no longer a regular trainer in NYC, this may be my last work visit. Sigh).
I’ve considered some options besides Central Park for Wednesday:
-
- Roosevelt Island
- Governor’s Island
- Randall Island
But there’s a 5k in Brooklyn (which I’ve run 4x before)
Of course, there could be no trip to NYC without a meet-up with Cari (and hopefully Elizabeth.)
Happy Running! What’s new with you? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida!
So Join in!
And don’t forget to link back to your hostesses and visit some other bloggers.
I don’t know, you’re almost halfway to 41 races already ….
I wear Brooks and chose a white pair this time. I think they look good for summer. 😉
Enjoy your visit to NYC!

I only have 30 on my list. I’m sticking to that.
White does match everything but they get dirty quick.
I will be busy with work in NyC but I’m sure I’ll have fun too.

From one shoe addict to another, I get that! Traveling to NYC is always fun. That mug is perfect for you. I would not be surprised it you hit that number again

Nope. 30 is my goal. hiking and walking more this summer.
I knew you’d understand my shoe dilemma.
I hate to work there but at least it is NYC. Lots to do.

What? You don’t already own that mug? You must get it!!!
I like the colors of your new shoes! Much better than the white/yellow/pink Topos (I own a pair of those too.)
Have fun in NYC!

I won too many mugs already. lol
And I do like the new colors better.

I rarely get cool shoe colors. I like them, of course, but better to have happy feet than colorful feet.
I don’t think I’ve ever run more than one race in a weekend.

Obviously I have raced more than one race many times but usually one race is just for fun.
Yes happy feet are important which is why I stick to ONE brand and don’t try different ones.

Governors Island could be a great sunset if the ferries are running late enough. Roosevelt Island you know is one of my favorites. And yes, I think we’ve eaten / drank together more than we’ve run. Balance!
I love how you say you don’t plan to beat 41, because we all know that’s doable

I think 30 will be it. Summer is my down time.

Holy frijoles! That many races? Then again I am not really surprised. 🙂 Brooks may have some nice colors for shoes but I do like the ones you have.

Mine aren’t cute like yours but my feet like them.

That is definitely important!

Well, I wear the Brooks Adrenailnes (most of the time), and although they have kome color options, not many of them appeal to me (lots of greys, and sometimes black). I Know, it’s about the shoe and not the color…which is why I swap out the shoe laces a lot (or Sharpie-up the sole, LOL).

Great idea about the laces. Lol.

Wow! I’ve done 10 including a marathon (Sat) and 5K (Sun) – would have been easier the other way around!
I miss NYC and love Cari’s photos!

I’m glad (of course) to see that you are reserving Sundays for time on the water. Lake George is amazing. You know how lucky you are, right?

I am lucky. Water is so therapeutic.

The shoes look great! I’ve actually never heard of Topo’s! I’ve been sticking with Brooks Ghost lately.
NYC is so nice to run – I really loved running in Central Park but it’s been too long! My in-laws will be moving soon so we probably won’t get as many opportunities to visit anymore.

You need a city visit with E before they move.
Topos have a wide toe box which I need.

you really are all about the races :). love it!
I should see if I can get those Topos here as well. I’m struggling again 😦

That’s a whole lotta races! :] Great that you’ve had downtime too for reading/relaxation! (I really need to get back to reading again.)
I hope you have a fun trip to NYC!

My racing will slow down this summer.
Most working in NYC but hopefully a little fun too.

18?! Wowza! It’s great that you enjoy racing so much 🙂
I like the color of your new shoes. I admit that I do get sucked in by the colorways – Brooks does offer some fun ones, especially for the Ghosts.
Have fun in NYC!

I love the Brooks colors. But they hurt my feet. Boo.
Yes. I love to race.

The Adrenalines just came out with a new color and I am drooling for it.
I am trying to take on one race a month, but I”m not doing so well with that. I was going to race on Monday, but I don’t feel like it. Oh, well.
I miss NYC too. It would be good to get up there.

You should only race if it makes you happy.
You get back your racing mojo.
It’s hard when it’s so hot and humid.
