It’s that time of the month…
time to join up with Coco & Deborah
for their ultimate coffee date.
After two months of going into the office three days a week, this month I will have to go back EVERYDAY!
I know I did it for many years before but still…. HOW???
I am so jealous of you runners who do not have to do your hair, make-up, put on jewelry and nice clothes and then pack a lunch, pre-run snack and your running stuff for all possible weather conditions. (RANT over!)
1. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I registered for Half Marathon #51 (counting all the virtuals of 2020). It is TOMORROW. Gulp!
2.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I ran 9 half marathons in 2020. However, I feel a little rusty. This is only my 3rd this year
and the last one was back in April.
3.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I signed up for several more races in September and October:
-
- 09-11-21 – Malta 5k
- 09-25-21 – Freihofer Run for Women 5k
- 10-03-21 – Smuttynose Half Marathon
- 10-09-21 – Great Pumpkin Challenge 5k
- 10-23-21 – Summer Smith Memorial 5k
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I’d tell you that I won 2nd place in a photo contest.
However, I didn’t remember entering and I had no idea which photo won. Glad they posted the winning pics:
5.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that my kitchen make-over project is more stressful than training for a marathon.
- Having someone remove all the wallpaper and then paint.
- Buying all new appliances, having them delivered and installed
- Picking out cabinets, flooring, tile, etc.
- Hiring someone to install them.
- Picking out countertops and hiring someone to install.
- Having the cabinets and flooring delivered (my hubby has to pick up) and installed.
- Having countertops delivered and installed
- Odds and ends like new curtains, hardware and outlet covers, etc.
Much harder and longer than my 16 week marathon training plan. It leaves me wondering why I decided to do this and if I will get to that finish line…
Happy Running! What’s new with you? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida!

Kitchen makeovers are a royal pain! It’s been over 20 years since we’ve undertaken that task (in our previous house), but the memory is still fresh in my mind. Our current kitchen is in decent shape; we’ve been here 19 years and have gradually replaced all the appliances with stainless steel…though, I’m getting the itch for a color-re-do (just painting, so I’ll be the “hired help” for that).

We’ve been for 21 years. But it’s the original so 36 years old. It’s time

I am in denial about our return to the office later this month. My husband’s got postponed again, but ours is moving ahead.
Congrats on the photo win — you do share great photos of the falls.
Good luck tomorrow!

Fingers crossed that ours get postponed.
Excited about tomorrow since it will be cool and not humid.

Congrats on winning the photo contest! I can relate to your kitchen makeover. I had mine done a few years ago and it was a major pain in the butt. Totally worth it in the end at least.

I think it will be. Can’t wait until it’s over.

Wow so many races. I swear we hardly have any races here. This is my second time doing a kitchen reno and I don’t remember it being anywhere as stressful as this one we’re doing now is. Maybe it’s like runner’s amnesia. Anyway it will be worth it when it’s done!

I hope so. Good luck to both of us.

Making over the kitchen was the second thing we did in this house. It was absolutely necessary for us. But it didn’t start until late Fall so the house was always cold with the door almost constantly open. You’ll be happy with it when it’s done.
Good luck tomorrow. Looks like you’ll finally have perfect weather for a race!

You are such an experienced runner and racer, I am sure you will do great! I love your ambitious race schedule. I have Corning in a few weeks-excited and nervous. I am sure getting back on schedule w work will take a few weeks but you will get there

Corning is so fun. Love that area. Are you flying there? Planning on any vineyards or hiking ?

Good luck in your half! I have one next weekend and haven’t “raced” a half since January 2020! So think of me and you’ll be in a way better spot! 🙂 Have fun!

Congrats on the photo contest.
Good luck tomorrow. The half is always tough but I am sure you will run a great race because you have a great experience on this distance.

I think all races are tough even if you are experienced.

I love the analogy of remodeling your kitchen to training for a marathon! Good luck on your half this weekend!
Congrats on your picture of the falls getting second place, so fun, but not surprising. You’ve taken some great nature shots this spring/summer!

And the marathon was less stressful

I agree with you on the reno PIA! We aren’t doing anything big but even the deep house clean I had last month was stressful. We’ve been doing all these projects and yeah, they are so disruptive. We did our kitchen 22 years ago. i was pregnant. I don’t know how i did it!

It’s so hard to go back to how things used to be when you’ve had a taste of what it could be. 😥 Hang in there!
Congrats on winning 2nd on the photo contest!
I hope your kitchen renovations go smoothly!

I think you’re a half marathon expert! You run more races than anyone I know.
Congratulations on the photo! I’ve always liked your photos so I’m not surprised.
Good luck on the kitchen reno- our kitchen is literally crumbling around us, but we just can’t seem to get started on that project. Maybe you and Marcia will inspire me.
Can’t wait to hear about your race today! Hope it goes well.

Thanks. We found a place to get everything that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. But they don’t deliver.
