It’s that time of the month…
time to join up with Coco & Deborah
for their ultimate coffee date.
I’ve only been working in the office for three days a week but after 18 months of working from home, it has been a HUGE adjustment.
And now I even have to wear a mask ALL day!
1. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that what I miss the most about working from home is being flexible with the time I can run. If I’m in the office, occasionally I may run before work but usually it has to be after work. And if the weather is bad, I have to skip the run.
2.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I’ve again joined the Freihofer’s Training Group. I usually participated in the Advanced group. But due to COVID restrictions, the groups are smaller and more numerous but the only Advanced group is scheduled on Thursdays which is my Trail Runs night. So until they are over, I’ll run with the Intermediate Group on Mondays after work.
3.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that in last month’s Coffee Update, I said that I had no races scheduled until September. Well, all of a sudden, I’ve run a 4 miler and a 5k.
- Firecracker 4
- FASNY 5k
I also signed up for another 5k and a 10k in August. And then a NEW local Half Marathon on Sept 4.
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I am most excited about running in NYC on Aug. 30. I had plans to go to NYC for the Van Gogh exhibit, a college reunion and weekend on the Hamptons. But I extended the weekend one more day so I could run in Central Park or along the Hudson R.
5.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I did take advantage of the Peleton special pricing – 3 months for the price of one. I joined on July 31 so that once my group runs end in September, I can use the app for my outdoor solo runs

Matty, I’ll be back soon!!
and for my neighborhood walks.
Happy Running! What’s new with you? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida!
So Join in!
And don’t forget to link back to your hostesses and visit some other bloggers.
Not much new with me, but I am really looking forward to running DAM to DSM at the end of this month! It’s usually held the weekend after Memorial Day, but got pushed back this year (you know, Covid) and it had to go virtual last year. I have another 13.1 in October and my marathon in September (I just can’t bring myself to say “next month” LOL).

Your marathon is approaching. So exciting.
We are both racing machines.

Hah! I’m not surprised you signed up for more races — enjoy! They pushed back our office opening until September, but I think masks will be mandated, especially with reports of breakthrough infections. The Peloton deal can’t be beat. I definitely get full value from my $12.99/month plan.

You do take advantage. I’m not that disciplined.
I’m a sucker for a race. Especially after that drought.

As Coco said, I’m not surprised to see a few more races added to your calendar 😉
I bet returning to the office is taking some getting used to. A lot of companies around here are hitting the pause button on having employees return – it will be interesting to see what happens.
Happy to hear you took advantage of that Peloton deal!

No pause here. It’s crazy.
I need to now use the app. So far only once.

I am jealous of all of your race availability! My first one is mid September and then Corning in October. I am going to miss you by a day in NYC I am going up Aug 31-too bad!

Our fall has quite a few races. That’s exciting that you doing Corning. I want to repeat that one.
Darn. I didn’t know you were coming to NYC.

In the hospital and rehab I had to be masked — I would definitely not be happy having to do it for work. My skin doesn’t like it either.
Good luck with all the Summer races. I hear Grafton State Park is really nice!

It’s very hilly. I’ve been there hiking. Yes pretty though.

I get why we have to mask up indoors but I hate it. I am not looking forward to it when school starts. Ha, I knew about the races! 🙂 But I am happy for you.

I know why. But it’s still a pain.

I went back to work some time ago and only recently did they tell us we could remove our masks if we’re the only ones in a room- before we’d have to wear them all day even if no one else was around. It’s a pain and seems silly since the air gets filtered every 20 minutes. Unfortunately masks aren’t going away for quite some time I believe.
That’s a great deal on your Peloton subscription!

Yes. Masks are here for awhile. If only everyone got vaccinated like with polio.

Oh, so you “accidentally” signed up for another race (or several?) ha ha…
Sounds like things are going pretty well, despite your return to the office. Don’t you hate wearing a mask all day??? It gives me a headache.

Yes. So uncomfortable

We have been masking up all day all year. It’s not so bad once you get used to it. Mind over matter!

I guess I’ll have to get used to it again.

I imagine that going back in the office is such a huge change. There really is something to say about having flexibility during the workday. I wish more companies would understand that some people are actually more productive working from home, especially when you don’t have to commute to work.
So glad that you are taking advantage of the current Peloton app deal! 🙂

I need to take more advantage of the Peleton app. I agree. Right now there’s no reason to go back to the office

hehehe, I hope you’re having fun with all the races! :] I can’t ever be fully virtual but very much did enjoy the 1 day a week — not having to commute and getting that extra flexibility in the schedule was definitely nice!

Funny how the races sneak up on us! I can’t wait to see your pics from NYC – I miss Central Park so much!

Have fun with your in person races. I’m sure working at the office everyday again is going to take some adjusting. I have no doubt you will figure out a way to run.

I am amazed at how many race options you have in your area. We have a couple things coming up in fall (hopefully) but overall there’s really nothing. Maybe now with the mask mandate your company can be more flexible and let you all work at home again if you prefer.

Nice to see that you have so many races on deck! They seem pretty few and far between in my area, but once September comes it’s going to be super busy!
That Peloton deal does look good! I have never tried the app and see how so many people love it, but I feel like I already have too many fitness subscriptions! Tempting…

I have no subscriptions because I am good with using them.
Yes, there are a few races…not as many as usual but enough to keep me active.
