Yup, FIVE weeks in a row with a race: 3.5m, 10M, 5k, 10k
- Miles on the Mohawk 10m
and yesterday a 5k.
Last Week –
- Sunday – Recovery Day!
I started the day at the gym…
and there was unpacking, laundry, errands and more gardening.
- Monday – Another WFH week.
It was raining (again) in the morning so I made plans to meet a friend after work to run.
- Tuesday – I went to the gym before work and again it was raining. And it rained on and off all day.
I had hoped to walk after work but instead went out to dinner with former co-workers (and walking buddies.)
I ate too much so I did walk afterward (and the rain finally stopped.)
- Wednesday – Same plan as last Wednesday. A very early run with a friend (doing run/walk intervals).
We ran for 4.25 miles and then walked for 2 more. A great way to start the day.
After work, I attended a charity event. It was a wine tasting to raise money for Orange Street Cats (from whom I got my last kitty.)
- Thursday – Another morning at the gym. A busy work day so no time for a run until after work.
This evening, I was finally free to attend one of the ARE Summer Trail Run series.
Most do run but not me. I walk with a few friends. This week it was near where I live but I haven’t been there in years.
- Friday – A rest day. I attended an end of the year meeting for work (at Ualbany).
I made a quick stop to see my granddaughter after work.
And in the evening I played mah jongg (after many weeks off.)
- Saturday – Valley Cats Father’s Day 5k Race. Of course, rain was predicted.
It is always a fun event where I know many of the local runners and I can convince my friend Heidi to join me.
Unfortunately it was pouring and Heidi decided not to go.
The rain eventually let up and it was fun.
- Sunday – Father’s Day! I plan to go to the gym… maybe we will take the boat out… weather dependent.
This Coming Week on the Run –
- Monday – run, dinner w/my stepson & SIL
- Tuesday – gym, walk, monthly dinner w/tennis friends
- Wednesday – run, dinner with an old friend
- Thursday – early train to NYC (for work), run, dinner with a college friend
- Friday – work in Jamaica, Queens, train home
- Saturday – Long run and Brunch
- Sunday – gym. boating?

Congrats on 3rd place in your age group in the Valley Cats Father’s Day 5K! Bummer that your friend Heidi decided not to join you. Here’s hoping that it doesn’t rain on your upcoming races. And yay for winning the Orange Street Cats raffle prize!

Thanks. I’m getting used to rain. Actually easier to run in than heat.

Congrats on the AG award! And, this just goes to show- you don’t know what the weather will be like. Just because it’s raining now doesn’t mean it’ll be raining in two hours. You might as well go for it and hope for the best!
Sounds like a fun week- I hope your cats like the toys!

Wow, so much racing! I’ve been decreasing my walk intervals which has been fun, physio day tomorrow so we’ll see if she’s happy with me …

I hope she is. Nothing wrong with walk intervals.

Indeed but I prefer to have the run intervals longer than the walk ones!

Me too. I like 90:45. So I’m running twice as much as I’m walking

Hoping to get things that way around in a few weeks’ time!
