Last week’s topic was: Your Year in Photos
Definitely one of my favorites topics because I LOVE to take pictures. The challenge was limiting each month to ONE or TWO pictures.
Here you go:
January
My first half marathon of the year and it took place in Central Park, NYC.
February
I took my annual vacation to Florida’s east coast to visit friends
and ran a half marathon (in the rain)
At the of of the month, I returned to NYC to run another half marathon.
March
I ran a 5 mile race in the worst weather conditions ever.
April
Couldn’t resist signing up for a new race in Central Park at peak cherry blossom time
My favorite local half marathon returned to its original course and I had my best half marathon finish time of the year.
May (my favorite month).
I ran a 5k in a costume (a first for me)
I ran to the top of Prospect Mountain again
I had a blast with my tennis peeps in Naples, Florida
and celebrated my birthday while I was there with a dinner at sunset
The tulips were in full bloom in Washington Park, Albany
June
I ran the Freihofer Run for Women for the 15th time…
and won a baseball bat at a 5k.
and viewed the Interactive Van Gogh exhibit (for the 3rd time)
July
Celebrating the Fourth in (running) style…
For the first time since the Pandemic I worked in NYC (and ran a 5k in Brooklyn one evening.)
Sundays in the summer were reserved for boat time on Lake George
August
A new furry addition to the family
and on my Mondays off, I did some scenic hikes in MA.
September
I talked my friends in joining me for a Labor Day weekend half marathon
I also discovered a new place to view and pick sunflowers
October
Another successful race-cation.. this year’s took place in Maine.
In addition to a race and other shenanigans, it included multiple beach sunrises
I got into the holiday spirit for a 5K
Reunited with some college friends in NYC and enjoyed peak fall foliage during a run in Central Park
November
A busy month with three races: 15k, half marathon and a 10k
December
Back to NYC to race and spectate the holiday displays.

My First 5K and More... 
So many races!! That’s a good accomplishment. I love the expression race-cation!! Perhaps we’ll do some of that in the future.

It is always fun to add a race when your on vacation… At least I try to… but I don’t travel much.

I love the variety of your race photos – sun, rain, snow. But you’re always smiling!
Also some nice non-running photos. Are sunflowers your favourite flower?

Yes sunflowers are followed by tulips
But I don’t always smile… I just don’t post those pics…. LOL

So many hard-fought races, so many gorgeous photos, so many incredible adventures with friends! You have had an INCREDIBLE year!

Wow Darlene, you really had quite a year! Like some of the other commenters, I love the variety of race photos- all the seasons represented! You also had some nice race-cations. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for for next year.

What a great year you had! You take great photos on both sides of the lens – whether you’re aiming the camera at flowers and beautiful views or getting your picture taken in a race.

You definitely had a busy year, and not just in your running shoes. I think I already have six races (and one climb) on my calendar for 2023…but I bet you have more 😉

This is awesome! It is hard to narrow it down to a few pictures per month. I should start my 2023 post early next year so that it is done by December. 😀
