It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
1. I runfess…
I participated in the 10 week Freihofer Train Challenge… As an ambassador, I felt I should support the runners. My runfession is that I did not follow their training plan. But I did enjoy meeting up and running with new and old running friends.
2. I runfess…
For the same reason as above (except that I had pay $$), I signed up for the Troy Turkey Trot Training Challenge.

3.I runfess…
I almost didn’t sign up because the runs are on Tuesdays. Tuesdays are my rest day.
#nevermissamonday #wednesdaygrouprun #thursdaytrails #longrunsaturday
Yes I’m anal about my schedule.
4. I runfess…
Now that I’m working from home again, I could run before work. But it’s dark out and daylight is decreasing each day.
Yup. Another excuse to enjoy that leisurely morning cup of coffee.
5.I runfess…
My bikes are lonely. Both Big Red and George have gotten zero attention!! I just can’t get motivated this summer to ride either one….
Happy Running! Anything to runfess this month? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida!
So Join in!
And don’t forget to link back to your hostesses and visit some other blog
I runfess that I may be a wee bit undertrained and a wee bit overtrained for Chicago (not as many long runs but run streak has me at a huge number of miles) and I have no idea how it will actually play out! I had a great 20 and a good half marathon so we’ll see! I never follow training programs even when I sign up!

Feel the same…anything can happen on race day – good or bad. Good luck to both of us.

I need to decide what I’m going to do for Thanksgiving. There are a few local races, but I don’t know which one to do.

That’s a fun day to race. And do you can justify eating more lol

The weather has been so hot & humid, I guess you really have to enjoy biking to be motivated to get out there & you’re plenty busy with others things.
The FTC training plan is usually the same so I don’t think you really have to worry about not following it. It’s going to be great racing weather tomorrow & that NEVER happens for Freihofers so enjoy.

I’ll try. I’m more focused on the half the week after. Not great timing for me.

I can’t believe Thanksgiving isn’t really that far off anymore. I think it’s fine if you don’t follow a specific training plan. You know yourself best and it’s not your first time around the block.

Thanks for your expert advice.
Too late now.
At some point, I plan follow a plan and see if it helps…

While my two outdoor bikes have gotten all kinds of love, poor Sebbe (the stationary bike) will need some major dusting when the temps get too cold to be outside. He’s my “winter” bike, so I have zero guilt ignoring him LOL I’ll choose outdoor riding (even when it’s borderline cold) over an indoor ride…very similar to my running preferences.

I definitely prefer running outside. I don’t even own a treadmill.
Just don’t seem to make time to bike. Hiking and waiting are go tos when I don’t run.

The whole not following a training plan seems to be working for you…if it ain’t broke 😉
I didn’t realize you’re back to working from home again. It’s nice to have the flexibility, isn’t it?!

Yes they suddenly changed their minds and realized that it worked well working remotely.

After the fracture of my femur in 2007, I bought a bike to recover. Swimming and riding were a good solution! When I could run again I sold that bike: too many risks because of the traffic around here.

Ha ha. I rode my bike when I broke my ankle. Only because I couldn’t run.

I runfess I use my Peloton bike all the time but I only got my outdoor bike outside once this whole summer. I have no idea why. Not following a training plan seems to work well for you. why change it now?! I am also a person who likes to have specific workout days and stick to them

I know. I just can’t get motivated to ride outdoors.
I run consistently but not by the plan. I could be faster. Maybe.

That’s good news you’re working from home again! I know you weren’t happy about going into the office.
My bikes have also been horribly neglected! I went to all the trouble of getting my bike fixed up for the trail, and then rode it once. But hey- we’re runners, not cyclists- the bikes will be there when (if) we need them!

Same story. I got a rack for the car, bike skirt, new helmet. I like your take. “We ARE runners.”
As I said to someone else, when I broke my ankle and couldn’t walk, I was happy to have owned a bike.

It is so dark in the morning and it makes me wish I were also working from home. But I also like being in my classroom and seeing my students. You are doing so well even if you don’t follow a training plan. You know what works for you.

If I were a teacher, I would definitely want to be face-to-face with my students.
Don’t know if it works but all I have time for lol
