It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
1. I runfess…
I ran short races on the weekend when I should have been doing my LSD for my upcoming half marathon.
Yes, I do use a rough training plan but I’m not good with following it.
-
- 07-04– Firecracker 4 – should have been 5 miles
- 07-25- FASNY 5k – should have been 8 miles
- 08-07– Run for the Roses 5k – should have been 10 miles
- 08-14 – Whipple City 10k – should have been 11 miles
2. I runfess…
I don’t learn from my mistakes, I signed up for two 5ks before my October 3 half marathon.
-
- 09-11 – Malta 5k – should be 11 miles
- 09-25 – Freihofer Run for Women – should be 8-10 miles
3.I runfess…
I love our trail runs but because it’s often technical, hilly or muddy, I walk much of the run.
But my runfession is that I count them as running miles (not walking miles). Sue me.
4. I runfess…
I was very excited about signing up for three months of Peleton. I had good intentions of using it for walks, strength training maybe even yoga.
Nope, not happening yet. I think I used it for once. My excuse is that I have not been running solo. I have no good excuse (besides, work, life, etc) for not using it for those other areas.
5.I runfess…
Without any walking challenges, I am walking much less when working from home. I know why. I use my free time to do household things like cleaning, laundry. etc.
I go back to the office in a week and the good news is that I WILL walk during my lunch hours (not much else to do.)
Unfortunately, running will be a rush to get it done before darkness and mostly alone. More importantly not forgetting to bring everything I need for all weather conditions.
Happy Running! Anything to runfess this month? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida!

And don’t forget to link back to your hostesses and visit some other blog
I seem to be walking less, but I blame the bike LOL I do walk, almost daily (sometimes twice daily) with a couple gals at work, though. It’s been great having them back in the office (they’d spent almost an entire year working from home and came back in June).

At my old job, I’d walk during others. It was great.

I’ve been slacking on my walking lately too – I blame the weather I’m just over this humidity and ready for fall!
You’ve still got some time to get a couple of long runs in before your half. Do you ever tack miles on before on after a race for your LSD?

Yes. The weather is part of the blame.
I do sometimes tack on miles. Again the weather killed me on the 10k

I have been walking less as well. I hope when the cooler temps come again that will change. It’s just too hot right now plus all the daily storms we seem to get. You still have some time to get a few longer runs in before your half. Hey, your style of training seems to work well for you. why change it!

Not sure if it works well. But it is what it is.

When I go for walks, it’s almost always with my dog but with the humidity in the 90’s on top of matching temps it’s been too hot for my long-haired black dog. She’s happy to hang out in the back yard for now but because of all of that, I’ve been walking a lot less this month.

It’s been a humid summer for us.

Ha ha, I like your runfessions! You still have time to get in some long runs- you could try to tack on extra miles to those races if possible.
I’m also not using the Peloton app to its full potential. I have been doing some classes, but the same ones over and over again. Which is ridiculous when there are hundreds to choose from.
Thanks for sharing!

I will try to tack on my miles after but often it doesn’t happen.

I don’t think it’s cheating to count your trail runs as running! I am in denial that I am expected to go into the office in a few weeks. It seems unreal after 18 months at home.
When you do need to run with Peloton you’ll see some new outdoor runs and THREE new running instructors starting next week!!!

Thanks for the encouragement.
Yes. The office thing is so unreal.

I didn’t run while in ME because there was no shoulder at all on the road by our friends’ house (the heat & humidity didn’t help much either). But we did do plenty of walking & some hiking & I’m not training for anything anyway.

Looked like you had a good time anyway.
Finally today it was cooler and nice weather for running.

We were pretty busy even without running. Nice to have local guides. 😊

I was up early every day. Went to bed late (for me) though. No curtains so the sun woke me up but I got to see the sunrise every day!

I think if your training plan works for you then keep on doing it. This month I walked a lot more during my runs and I still counted them on running miles. My rules.

Exactly. My rules.

These are all excellent runfessions. I usually drink Dunkin, and just an Iced Coffee with cream, no sugar, but that’s because Starbucks isn’t convenient. A new one is being built by us, and I’m scared for what that might mean for me and my lack of restraint.

Lots of new fall flavors too

You could do a Peloton walking challenge and knock out both of the last two :p
Luckily for your September races it will (hopefully) be cooler and you can add mileage if you want to get in the prescribed miles. Me? I opened the training plan for Malibu. Oops.

Excited for your race. You’ll do fine.
Thanks. I never thought about doing a challenge.
