It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest for the first time in 2019 with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
1. I runfess…
I don’t sweat much when it is cold and I also don’t take as many running selfies. So I sometimes re-wear the same running outfit several days in a row.
Yup, same outfit for both of these runs – two days in a row.
Do you ever wear the same running clothes two days in a row?
2. I runfess…
It has been cold but I am still craving ice cream. I parked at Stewarts for both those runs above and yes, I had ice cream afterwards.
Anyone else eat ice cream in the winter?
3. I runfess…
I was up in the air about running a full marathon but FOMO took over and I hit the register button. I know some NYC runners doing it but I hope some of my local running friends and other bloggers get into the lottery. I was lucky enough to have a guaranteed entry.
Anyone else joining me in NYC on Nov 3? I’ll need all the the support I can get.
4. I runfess…
If I plan to run 26.2 miles, I need to make my feet feel better. I ordered these and hope they work. I don’t plan on bunion surgery any time soon.
Anyone try these to correct foot pain caused by a bunion’s pressure on the metatarsals?
5. I runfess…
Running has been going pretty well, even with the colder temps but strength training…not so much. I played tennis twice but zero trips to the gym, and haven’t taken that yoga class yet. Still 11 months to go, though. Anything can happen.
How are you doing on your 2019 goals?
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 linkup! Join in! Don’t forget to link back to your hostess and visit some other bloggers.
Happy Running! Anything to runfess this month? Please share.
So exciting that you will be running NYC! I’m not running the race this year but I’ll be there to cheer on the runners (I’m usually at mile 18).
I love ice cream and also eat it year round as well 🙂

Yay!! I’ll look for you at mile 18 – I’ll need all the support I can get.
Great news – a fellow ice cream lover.

I’ve worn the same gear on business trips. I usually pack enough for a fresh outfit every day, but sometimes that ^one^ outfit is perfect for the weather conditions. It’s easier to do in the winter. 😉

It is so hard to pack to run on work trips. I bring different tops but usually wear the same bottoms.

I do not ever crave ice cream in winter. Ever. I have enough trouble warming up as it is.
I sweat heavily no matter the time of year, so I rarely rewear clothes before washing. The WW does dry really quickly, but knowing how much I already sweated in them . . . no. Just no.
I have socks that have separators for the toes, which I use at home or while doing yoga sometimes. But I don’t have a bunion. I still think they’re a good idea because we spend too much time with our feet crammed into shoes.

Maybe because I don’t sweat in the cold, I am fine after running outside or it could be my fireplace & hot tub that helps. Either way, I still prefer running in the warm weather. All those layers – it takes me 15 minutes just getting dressed to go outside (not to mention all the stuff to carry to work).

Ice cream is always acceptable in my mind haha. I love ice cream! Even if it’s cold.

So I really sweat a lot even when it’s really cold! Sometimes my jacket is sweaty too! I have tried those toes things at first they are annoying but they get better if you use them for a while.

I don’t sweat as much when it’s cold but I still wash my running stuff after one wearing. I just have to.
I’m so excited for you to run NYCM. If you’re going to do a marathon, it may as well be your hometown one!

I am excited too and very very nervous!!!

Not in my hometown – there is a local marathon where I live but it’s in my home state and it’s the biggest one in my home state.

I sometimes wear the tights more than once, and maybe the top (depending on just how cold it was and how far I ran). The bra, though…once and done LOL

I hope folks don’t think I wear the same under wear two days in a row. I change that. Lol.

I am still SO happy about you running NYC, and now it’s official!
Have you tried those gel wraps, that loop around your toe and cushion the bunion? I use to wear those all the time during a run.

I have tried most things what hurts is that it presses against the next toe. And also my mud foot after many miles.
I’m nervous about running a full. But glad about taking the leap. Finally.

I can’t wear any workout clothes 2 days in a row! I sweat too much no matter what the weather. LOL
Yay for getting into NYC marathon!

It must be the humidity difference, but I sweat year-round so wearing my running gear more than once is a no go.
After watching Jeff, who runs must less than you (well, until he was in training), do so well with his first marathon, I have no doubt you are going to rock it. Super excited that you are doing it, and in such an iconic race!

So excited to follow your NYC training, I know you’ll do a fantastic job! I wish I could wear the same running outfit but I am heavy sweater even in the cold lol!
I’ve been doing a good amount of cross training but not as much running…I’m trying not to be too hard on myself!

You shouldn’t be hard on yourself. Cross training is important.

I have a friend who swears by the things for your feet and wears them to bed at night! I have not tried them though.

I sometimes wear the same running outfit if I haven’t sweat that much and I’m running alone haha! i’m the only one that has to deal with my sweat (and I do the laundry 90% of the time so…).
I don’t usually eat ice cream in the winter no, but you’ve got a definitely ice cream soul mate in my husband, who could eat it year round!!
I am *still* considering NYC. I have registered on the site but not yet for the race… stay tuned. I have 2 more weeks to think about it.
I couldn’t see the image for your foot thing – but I do have a question for you – do your vomeros agitate your bunions? As you know I have feet issues I’m a strong advocator of trying anything that may work for you!
my goals have been a bit hit or miss but now that i have some clarity about my surgery I’ll be sucking it up and moving forward very soon.

Ok. Feb 14 is the deadline. It would be so fun.
No my shoes don’t aggravate it. They have a wide toe box. The bunion makes my toe press toward the toe next to it. It also puts pressure on the metatarsals so I get pain on the bottom of my foot. After 6-10 miles or so.

I love eating ice cream any time. And I also drink iced coffee all year long.

I’m an ice cream fan but I do only drink iced coffee in the summer. And not often.

Cold weather isn’t a reason for me to avoid ice cream – after all I’m pretty much an iced coffee all year round person. But I find I don’t generally crave ice cream — just a specific flavor.
I tend not to re-wear shirts and bras back to back, but may after a hand wash and before a wash and fold trip

Coffee is my favorite flavor.
I don’t rewear bras usually but lately it’s been too cold to sweat.
