Every Friday, three DC area bloggers Mary at Mar On the Run, Cynthia at You Signed Up For What?! and Courtney from Eat Pray Run, DC to host the Friday Five linkup. Anyone can join with their own Friday Five post (yes, it must be a Friday Five!!) They encourage you to visit other blogs on the linkup, comment, share and engage!
This week, the theme is Favorite Winter Activities:
I’ll say it up front. I hate the cold!!
If I didn’t run, I would never go outside.
I don’t ski, snowboard, ice skate, sled, snow shoe…nada!
Keeping that in mind, here are my favorites:
1. Running (only cuz I sign up for races & winter half marathons to make me get out there)
2. Tennis (Indoors) – I play doubles once a week.
3. Knitting – I am not very experienced but I have made socks, hats & scarfs.
4. Cooking (on the weekends) – I love to make soups & chili.
5. Reading – I always read every night before I go to sleep.

I think this one is her best – I read it in one day!

loved this one – can’t wait to see the movie!
Happy Running! What are some of your favorite winter activities?
running, snowboarding, drinking wine with friends/fam, hanging w/ my family upstate at the lake by the fire, seeing allllll the Christmassy stuff around NYC!

I can not knit. But it would be neat to learn. I’d love to make myself a scarve for the winter.

Does sitting by the fire count? I ice skate almost every day year round so I guess that must be one of my favorites. : )

I always wanted to play tennis. My husband was a high school all star. He tried to teach me once…that didn’t turn out very well. It’s not too late, I guess. I love your knitted socks. Are you running this weekend?

it’s not too late to learn to play tennis but not from your husband. (My hubby plays but he is way better than me.) Take an adult ed class. Yes, my last race is Sunday – an informal 15k. And you?

I used to love snowboarding in the winter, but not so much since the babies, I will have to wait until they are big enough to hit the slopes with me! But curling up with a good book and some nice home made soup is a great way to spend the winter!

I actually do love to ice skate & was doing it for a while when we first moved here, then running took over my life.
Hate skiing. Have always wanted to try x country skiing & snow showing, but see above.
I read before I go to bed, too. I didn’t like Wild that much, but I could see it being a good movie & want to see it.
