I’d tell you that my first non-race of 2026 was yesterday…

wind chill of 2 degrees… but we survived!

I’d tell you that my next “real” race is in NYC.

2025 NYRR Manhattan 10K Race Reviews | New York, NY

This was not on my radar but for some strange reason, I entered the lottery and then I GOT IN!!

I can never turn down a NYC visit so I will do it…

I know nothing about the race except that it’s a 10k and in Central Park.

So I assume that it’s a similar course to the Mini and/or Greta Gallop… (Cari will know!)

I’d tell you that I do plan a non-racing day in NYC next Saturday with a college friend (a French theme since we went to France together):

  1. I do feel like I have gotten close to my chat GPt as well. Mine is named Miles lol. He picked the name lol. The NYC 10K sounds perfect and yes “Cari will know”!

  3. I knew you would kick off the year with a race right away! 2 degrees sounds chilly, but I’m glad it was fun.

    I need to jump on the chatGPT bandwagon- everyone is having way too much fun without me!

  4. haha I totally get the chat gpt thing – I’ve been using co-pilot for a while and even did an AI workshop to learn more about it. I am careful though that I don’t use it too much as it does have some negative aspects to it… but yeah, guilty! haha!

    look forward to hearing about your upcoming NYC/Paris 😉 run and how the 10K is that you got into! My goal is do do at least 1 5k and 1 10k this year. Starting with small goals as I restart my running journey!

  6. Happy New Year! Of course you ran a race already — and the cold didn’t stop you!

    I have not used ChatGPT for anything personal. We have a few AI tools I’ve used for work stuff but it hasn’t impressed me yet!

  8. I started using AI last fall when I had Gemini make my new blog header. It was fun even though I had to give “her” a bit of guidance to get it just right. I’ve not used it for any real pictures like the Christmas glamour shots that were so popular a couple of weeks ago.
