It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
The last one of 2025…
1.I runfess…
I was planning to run the Fort Lauderdale Half Marathon again when I am in Florida in February.
But with TWO half marathons scheduled for March, I decided NOT to sign up (Are you disappointed, Jenny?)
2. I runfess…
That being said, you know that I rarely travel anywhere without a race scheduled…
When I was recovering from a sprained ankle, instead of the half marathon, I ran a local 5k in Florida.
I loved that race (and met Jeannie Rice) but they changed the date this year until later in the month.
No worries. I found a new 5k.

3. I runfess…
But yes, I do plan to run BOTH half marathons in March. I’ve never run TWO half marathons 6 days apart!!
Wish me luck!!

4. I runfess…
My annual miles is the lowest ever…(even with no injuries).
I’m healthy so that’s all that matters.
5. I runfess…
I’ve mentioned that I didn’t want to run a trail race but I got outvoted.
It wasn’t so bad…
I didn’t fall. LOL
And who knew it would be so much fun… a different animal from road racing.
But I have no future plans on racing trails (No offense Jenny.)
Happy Running! Anything to runfess this month? Please share.

It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and The Running Teacher!

Yay for injury free, Darlene! And all the best for those two half-marathons… just take it easy on that 2nd one if you can! 😀

yes ending the year injury free is a win all around! Asheville was one of my favorite races-wonder if they have altered the course at all since I’ve done it.

You’ll have to give me tips on what to see there.

I predict you are in for a great year!
Is the Asheville Half hilly? My mother-in-law used to live in the mountains near there ….

Most likely hilly. LOL

Hilly or not, I’ll be the Ashville race will be nice. You’re right: healthy is most important. I haven’t cared about mileage in a very long time. I’ll bet Jenny will be disappointed though!

Bummer! I’m skipping the NYC Half this year so I’ll miss you. I’m doing the Love Run in Philly this year at the end of March instead.
Happy New Year!

I skipped it last year in favor of DC… Cari is doing the Love Run.
I did it years ago (in the pouring rain)
I think I may do it next year.
Enjoy.

I think the two back-to-back half marathons will go well, so long as you don’t try to “race” both (or either?) of them. I’ve done back-to-back races, with fulls & half’s, and treat one as a “recovery run.” I’ve never had problems & have kept my running ego in-check 😉. It’s a great confidence builder, as well as a reminder of what our bodies are capable of doing.

you are right… I doubt I will race either…

Trails are challenging to run! I also don’t have enough access to them for practice, so they really are tough!
Love that you are healthy – even if the miles are lower!

I never run on trails. These were very easy. You would not need to practice.
Yes being healthy is important.
