Normal:
Sleeping my own bed.
Mostly WFH but one day in person.
Gym, runs, walks wherever they fit.
Last Week –
- Sunday – Mother’s Day was low key.
I went to the gym, did some errands and the family then visited my (almost 100 year old) MIL.
In the evening, I met a friend for wine and it was free (being Mother’s Day) 🙂
- Monday – Back to work. It was a WFH day but I did go to the office in the afternoon.
In between, I went for a short run
and afterward, met a friend for a walk at UAlbany.
- Tuesday – I started the day at the gym
and went for a walk at lunch
and another after work with two former co-workers/walking buddies.
- Wednesday – I had to teach in-person today.
I skipped the gym but rewarded myself with Starbucks
I had missed 2 weeks of the Training Challenge group. Today was week 8. Barbara & I met and ran 2 miles before..
- Thursday – WFH but I squeezed in a walk at lunch. I haven’t been on the water line behind my house since last fall. I was disappointed that they haven’t maintained it this year.
After work, I participated in CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge. My office doesn’t have enough runners for a team so we joined the UAlbany team. It was a warm, humid evening but it was very inspiring to see 7,600 workers from 450 offices come together to run or walk 3.5 miles.
- Friday – WFH again today and so I could go to the gym first thing…
Instead of mah jongg, I attended this event which was created by a tennis friend…

- Saturday – Long Run and Brunch. Trying for prepare for next Sunday’s 10 mile race… I carpooled with Deb and Barbara. I ran 4 miles with Barb and then 4 slower miles solo. Afterward we met the walkers for brunch.
In the evening we got together with my SIL as an early b-day celebration for my hubby.
- Sunday – Plan to head to the gym…and some gardening if the weather permits.
This Coming Week on the Run –Â

A nice normal week for you! I have just had the excitement of a sled push at the gym (it’s very quiet on a Sunday early morning so I dared to do it) and am enjoying my physio and gym work – almost back to running now!

I’m sure it feels good to be back to your usual routine, especially since spring has sprung! Good luck next Sunday on your race. I do love a 10 miler!

Yes. I prefer 10 to 13.1 too. Though I don’t feel quite ready.

It was fun and yes, 10 is better than 13.1. At least I hope,

Sounds like you had a great week! Did the other Training Challenge mentors say if so few runners had shown up the previous two weeks? If so, that must be very frustrating as a volunteer.
Happy early birthday to your hubby!

It is but the other locations have many runners.

Yay for getting back to the routine! And already another 10-miler on the plan. I love how you (almost) never have a race-free weekend in your diary – it keeps you on your toes!

It keeps me running. I almost signed up for a half today.

Sounds like a great week, and I think you’ll be ready for your race. Of course- as always, it depends on the weather. We’ll hope for some cool temps. 10 miles is definitely a nice distance.
Happy Birthday to your husband! Is that some kind of tart? It looks delicious!

Fruit tart. I liked it. He prefers ice cream cake.
Yes 10 is easier than 13.1.

Looks like a nice week! I’d love to find a 10-mile race! I’m planning on a 10-mile run next weekend (and have DAM to DSM 13.1 on the 31st). Hard to believe Memorial Day is almost here!

We used have a few 10 milers but now this is the only one. I know we have our favorite races the weekend after but mine is only a 5k.

Yay for birthday celebrations! and hooray or a “normal” week – you had such a lot going on! We have a 10 mile race here, but it always falls in April on a weekend we’re busy. It’s too bad because they time it so it is perfect for Cle half marathon training. The year I trained for the full I did run 10 miles before the race and finished my 20-miler with the 10 mile race, which was fun!

It’s nice to have a change in routine, but it’s nice to get back to normal!
Good luck with your 10M — that used to be my distance, now I suffer through 10K, LOL.
