11 weeks to go!!
This week, I signed up for my expo time, my poncho/bag check and the ferry time. (It’s getting real!!)
Last Week –
- Sunday – I started the day out at the gym and then we spent the rest of the day on the lake.
- Monday – An early morning run before work…
- Tuesday – I started the day with another gym visit and after work I went to the movies and out to dinner with a friend.
- Wednesday – After late a night, I pooped out on my before work run…
Instead, I dragged myself out after work.
- Thursday – No time for a run this morning since I was not WFH but I was able to sneak in a few miles
before our weekly ARE trail event.
Nope. Storms for the second week in a row.
And so I stayed home and binge watched:

- Friday – Again nada in the morning due to work and then house clean-up after work since I was hosting mah jongg.
- Saturday – Long Run Day (and Brunch).
12 miles on my schedule.. Good news, it didn’t rain. Bad news, it didn’t rain = VERY HUMID!!

We all run different paces so I ran intervals with Deb for 7 miles and then ran/walked the rest solo
It was hard but glad meet up with everyone at brunch after.
- Sunday – Back to the gym and back up to the lake!! Weather dependent.
This Coming Week on the Run –
- Monday – DAY OFF – Run, hike
- Tuesday – GYM, walk w/friends
- Wednesday – Run, walk w/BFF
- Thursday – AM run, ARE trail night
- Friday – GYM, maj jongg
- Saturday – Long Run (10 miles), hair appt.
- Sunday – GYM, boating
This Coming Week on the Blog –
- Tuesday – Cross Training
- Friday – Bucket List Races

So grossly humid today.
Didn’t realize they were still doing expo times, I wonder why. Definitely Real TM!

They make you pick a time but last year they never checked.

I didn’t realize that you had to sign up for expo times at NYCM, but after my experience at Chicago last year trying to pick up my bib for the 5k, I think it’s a really good idea. Yes, it’s getting real! I’m proud of you for doing another marathon. i have a half in November and I think it’s going to be my last long distance race.

I’m addicted to that show for the scenery and the fashion… the story is kinda lame.

I don’t remember having expo times when I ran NYCM back in 2014 but I suppose it’s a good idea. It is getting real for sure!

They make you sign up for times… not sure why because last year, they just let you in.

Ooh, how exciting! 11 weeks to go. Nice job on the long run this week.
How is that book (The Perfect Son.) I picked it up randomly while I was waiting in line at Target this week and read a little, and it seemed interesting.
Anyway, I hope you’re getting excited about the marathon and enjoying the training. I know it’s hard in the heat- fall is coming soon!

It’s not one of her best. I liked the 3 Housemaid ones better.
Definitely not excited about training for a 26 mile race. So far the runs have been torture.

Oh, we haven’t started the newest season of Emily yet — looking forward to the fashion.
I noticed your Left Hand beer — the brewery is near my daughter in Longmont CO, and I’m a lefty so we always go there. 😉

ooh I love Emily in Paris! I lost my Netflix connection last year (ha! But gained much more, LOL). I want to see that movie, too, because I love Bette Midler 🙂 Your training appears to be going well!

I’ve never seen Emily in Paris! Is it good? That’s a little lighter than things I usually watch.
So excited for your race! I definitely have one planned for October, but need to figure out things around that.
Lots of lake time this week!

It’s very light but I love the fashion and the scenery.
Excited to hear about your October race. Is it a big one?
Unfortunately lake time got rained out yesterday.

Wow, I don’t remember scheduled expo times when I ran NYC in 2016…much has changed. Best of luck!

Doesn’t matter since they don’t check the times.

Fall marathon season is approaching quickly! Hopefully, you’ll get some fall-like weather for those longer runs near the end of your training cycle. Like others have said, I’ve not heard of scheduling an expo time slot. Sounds like it would really help expedite the experience, but only if they allow people in during their allotted times only.

Exactly and if you’ve done it before, you know that they can’t enforce the signed uptimes.
Right now, it feel like fall but it will warm up again, I’m sure.

I can’t wait to watch Emily in Paris! Maybe I’ll skip an outdoor run and hit the treadmill because that’s where I watch it. But the weather here is so nice right now… Very exciting about NYC Marathon happening soon!!
I might have to hit the movies again with my Mom to see the Fabulous Four. Girls night!
