It’s that time of the month…
time to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.
You will forget abut your finish times or your running pace but the memories that you make while running or racing will last forever!!
1.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I have no long races for 3 months!!

next one…
I even skipped at 10 mile race that I’ve enjoyed in the past. Of course, I had major FOMO reading everyone’s social media posts but I know I made the right decision.
2. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I panicked when out of the blue, I had a sharp pain in the thigh. It hurt to run and walk up/down stairs.
I imagined abductor or quad strain and even stress fracture.
Immediately I called my chiro for an appt. and walked a practice 5k.
3. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that after a painful ART session on some trigger points around my IT band and quad, the pain disappeared.
It happened so quickly that I wondered if I really had the pain.
Would it have gone away on its own?
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I almost cancelled my second chiro appointment.
My leg felt normal but I wanted to see what she said (She’s my original doctor, not the one I went to first.)
She agreed with the diagnosis and said I was good to go (IOW run the 5k the next day),
5. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I didn’t run that 5k.
In fact, it was the THIRD 5k that I’ve walked this year!
Yes, me!
One because of a sprained ankle,
another as a mentor to runner who preferred to walk
and lastly due to a case of food poisoning the night before the race.
It is definitely less stressful and lots of fun especially if you do it with friends.
Happy Running! What’s new with you? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and The Running Teacher!
So Join in!
And don’t forget to link back to your hostesses and visit some other bloggers.

That’s great how quickly the pain in the thigh went away. Maybe the visit with the chiro helped, maybe the pain would have gone away on its own, but whatever the case, it’s gone!
A 10-mile race or a day on the boat? Both sound fun, but the later sounds far more relaxing.

It was very relaxing. But not very active.

So glad your pain went away as quickly as it came. I would have gotten seen if I could but I rarely can get any appointment so soon.
I bet you’ll be doing some races soon!

Yup. A 5k next Saturday. But no big ones.

Like you, I don’t have any long races for awhile (mid-October for me). It feels weird, but also quite freeing. Even not running your races mentioned above, you’re still staying active and making the best of your situation:-)

Yep, ART sessions are painful- but worth it. Glad the problem is fixed!
My next long race is November. For the next two months I’m going to focus on speed and strength, and hopefully not injure myself while doing so. I’ll start doing long runs again in August.

Same. Fingers crossed for both of us.

Glad you got that pain worked out. I don’t have any races planned and am just taking things as they come along. I’ll still run with my run groups during the summer but more for the social aspect than anything else.

The day on the boat looks way more relaxing! 😛
I’m glad the pain in your thigh went away! I used to run regularly when my running buddies were around, but now that we’ve been separated across multiple time zones…sigh. :[ It’s not the same!

That’s too bad. You need new running buddies.

It is weird and always alarming to get little pains out of the blue like that. Glad it resolved quickly!

I’m glad the pain was short-lived! Can’t have anything getting in the way of your marathon training!

you have no long races on the books for 3 months?? is that to focus on marathon training?
I walk still in races a lot. I had an 11km trail race I walked the marjority of because it was HARD. So many hills. I know what you are thinking, the Netherlands is flat, but not over here.
hope your weird random pains don’t come back.

Burnt out after 3 half’s in 3 months.
I’m ok if I walk a lot too.
Fingers crossed I can stay healthy until Nov.

So what was the diagnosis? I am glad the pain went away. You will be training for a marathon and there is no time to be injured.

Exactly. Favoring that leg due to knee and ankle issues. Feels fine now.

Hugs.
I walked my 4.9K yesterday. Even if I had been running, the hospital on the route was out with their therapy dogs. My time would have been trashed because I stopped and petted every single one. And when they moved to the second side of the course, I stopped and petted them again. NO REGRETS!

Sometimes walking is a better idea. It sounds like it was for you.
