It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
…the first one for 2024!!
1.I runfess…
When I was not running due to an ankle injury, I was still tempted to make running-related purchases.
I mean you always need new shoes when recovering, right?
2. I runfess…
Although I’ve barely started running again, I still haven’t deferred my Feb. 18 half marathon in Florida.
I know I am not in shape to run 13.1 miles but I just can’t pull the trigger yet.
3. I runfess…
I have more running clothes than I’ll ever need but I finally could not ignore the bargains from Skirt Sports (they are going out of business, as you know.)
4. I runfess…
I already signed up for our September race-cation race… because I wanted to take advantage of the cheap price. Hope I don’t burned again.
HALF MARATHON – Early Bird Fee (ONE WEEK ONLY): $75 – January 15, 2024 through January 21, 2024.Regular Fee: $90 – January 22, 2024 through August 1, 2024. (unless race sells out)Late Fee: $105 – August 2, 2024 through September 29, 2024. (unless race sells out)
5. I runfess…
I don’t enjoy racing alone. Yet I registered for the Brooklyn Half Marathon because I time qualified.
I selfishly talked two of my running into entering the lottery.
Phew.. they BOTH got in.
Happy Running! Anything to runfess this month? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and The Running Teacher!
So Join in!
And don’t forget to link back to your hostesses and visit some other blogs!!

I have A LOT of size S Skirt Sports stuff sitting here. Some with tags on. Maybe I should sell it…
Those are cool shoes!

You should. But don’t tempt to buy anything lol.

I think buying running gear and signing up for races is putting it out to the universe that you WILL be running again — go for it!

I like the way you think…
I hope we BOTH will be this year.

You can always wear your skirts as cute outfits for running errands, etc. so you really can’t have too many! At least that’s my excuse for buying things like that. 😉
Your fall racecation sounds fun! And yay for getting friends to join you in running the Brooklyn Half.

I like the way you think. But not helping my addiction. lol
Yes. So happy not spend the weekend in Brooklyn alone.

Yes, they always have a very cool medal for the Ft Lauderdale race. Any chance you could run-walk it? Or are you thinking of doing the 5k?
I agree with Coco- it’s okay to buy new gear and sign up for races when you’re injured. It keeps your spirits up and reminds you that you WILL be running again.
Did you decide you don’t like the Altras?

I loved the Altras but they brought me bad luck. LOL
I am thinking of the 5k but not that one. One north on Feb 17. I could run/walk it but it would take so long and I don’t want to ruin my chances of running NYC in March.

Well you know I think you can’t have enough running clothes! Is there a shorter distance you can bump down to in February? I know you like your races?

Yes. There are 4 nearby 5ks but not sure.
But I think I do have enough clothes. I should probably get rid of some.

I can’t make it to the NYC Half this year but I’ll see you in Brooklyn! I’m excited as I haven’t done that one in quite a while. Does the Feb half have a 5K? If not, you could always run/walk??

Oh no. I was hoping to see you in March
But glad you are running Brooklyn. Maybe I’ll get lucky for dry and cool.
Yes there’s a 5k the day before. We will see.

My recent obsession with biking shorts (not necessarily the padded ones, but those with the side pockets) is very comparable to your skirt thing. I wear them for both indoor cycling and outdoor riding (the seat on my indoor bike has an odd shape and rubs me in an awkward place, LOL), I wear them for running as well because the pockets are so nice!

I love my pockets.

I believe you should never deny yourself new running shoes 😉
That Feb half might not be possible but do they offer a shorter distance? I hope you’re back at it and racing soon!

I like the way you think. You should see my shoe closet. lol.

I love it! I think you have the right mindset to be ready and able to do some of these future races! And now you have the gear and the clothes to do it!
And just wait and see about February… You never know…

I’ll take that medium off your hands when it doesn’t fit you — it won’t 😀
Bummed I won’t be here in May to spectate everyone. I may run that again one year. Maybe
