FFF: Ultimate Coffee Date for March 2023

It’s that time of the month…

time to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.

That mug is the theme of this post…

It was the best of times:

1. Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed having a vacation AWAY from WORK.

I’m already looking forward to my next week off in May.

No computer for a week!!!

2.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that while on vacation, I was able to check off almost everything on my bucket list.

    • Watch sunrise over the ocean.
    • Sunbathe on the beach.
    • Visit nature preserves.
    • Attend a professional tennis match.
    • Run.
    • Enjoy good food and drink.
    • See many cool wildlife (esp. alligators and birds).
    • Enjoy sunshine every day.

3.Over coffee

I’d tell you that I was able to connect with 5 out of 6 friends who live in Florida whom I would never see otherwise if I didn’t visit.

4.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that my friends were wonderful and accommodating making sure I was comfortable and having fun.

5.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I returned to the best news ever.  You may remember that my daughter-in-law in Dec 2020 lost a baby boy at 4 months.

God willing, I will have a GRANDDAUGHTER on Sept. 3, 2023!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NYC – Nov. 5, 2023!

  1. While 2023 had a rough start for me, it’s been looking up in February for the most part. But no, not getting to go anywhere warm. Unless someone finally decides on our trip to Asheville, but even then hopefully it will be warmer here (April) but of course you never know.

Congrats to your family & most especially your stepson & DIL. You have a lot to look forward to.

    • It will be a scary 6 months since she is very high risk.

Glad someone had a good Feb. My January was great and I hope things improve by April for my running.

      • Both my December & January were not great at all. I keep a mood tracker (well, didn’t so much in Feb) and for the first time in both months most days were just ok — but there were quite a few rough days, too.

Thinking positive thoughts for your DIL.

    • Me neither… very stressful as she see the dr every week until she delivers.

Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it!!

  2. That’s exciting news about your DIL! I hope her pregnancy goes well. I’m sure it’s hard to have to go through that.
I did get a break from the weather in January, which is our worst month weather-wise, when I went to Hawaii, so that was nice.
I hope you’re able to run again soon!

  3. Oh, Darlene, that is such wonderful news about the granddaughter on-the-way!!!! That shirt is perfect with the timing of her arrival you’ll be in the thick of training for NYCM 🙂 Stay positive (I know it’s not easy), but this little detour will be but a memory in a few months ❤

    • Can’t wait until it’s a memory. Time moves so slowly when you can’t run.

Thanks. Fingers crossed the baby comes and is healthy.

  5. Oh, I am so excited for you, your son, and daughter-in-law. Sending good thoughts for a happy and healthy pregnancy. I know this is awful right now, but I am glad you were able to crosss so many things off your bucket list.

  6. amazing you could check so many things off your list while you were away AND get to connect with friends. such a bummer though that you are “out of the running” for a bit now.

sending all the healthy baby vibes – what a great day to have a baby, I hope your DIL really gives birth that day because personally I find it the best day in September 😉 but then again it is MY birthday so …

  7. You did manage to do a lot of fun things despite your foot. They probably weren’t as fun, but still better than being at work.

Congratulations on your granddaughter in utero! She surely will bring a lot of joy when she’s born!

  8. Congratulations on becoming a grandma! I hope you do wear that shirt!

I’m glad you had a great time in Florida, I enjoyed seeing the pics!

I hope things get better for you soon. Running definitely helps as a form of therapy.
