So today is my last race for 2022!!!
My 34th of the year.
I must say it’s been a fairly good racing year.
No PRs but many age group awards, some new races, a few out of town races and zero injuries!!!
Last Week:
- Sunday – A little tired from my NYC adventures but still needed to get moving…
Just a short local hike (sorry no pics)
Unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, errands, etc.
- Monday – #Nevermissamonday….
With a busy week ahead, I squeezed in a lunch run on the rail trail.
And I bumped into my running friend Barbara… we walked and chatted for a bit. Unfortunately I had to get back home to work.
- Tuesday – Busy work day but again, I ran at lunch. I had less time so I stayed in the ‘hood…
and after work, I attended a book talk with a friend
- Wednesday – Too busy at work to run and the weather was less than ideal so I took a rest day.
And got my nails done…
- Thursday – Back to teaching in person so I could only drive to UAlbany after work to get my run done. I was lucky that my running friend from Fla was in town and we ran together with another friend (and then had dinner together.)
- Friday – Another rest day due to in person teaching, and other stuff…
But I did get together with the mah jongg ladies that evening.
- Saturday – I had decided to only walk with my running friends this morning (becuse I had a race the next day) but they thought it was too cold.
Plan B: a long run with Stan and Sherry followed by brunch.
Then in the evening, we had our annual potluck dinner.
- Sunday – Doug Bowden Winter Series #1
A local running club sponsors five free races during the winter. Each race has varying distances. I chose the short one today..
Hope I get it done before the snow…
This Coming Week on the Run–
- Monday – DAY OFF – run with friends, hike
- Tuesday – Drive to LI for work, run
- Wednesday – work on LI, run?
- Thursday – drive home after work, rest day
- Friday – rest day, mah jongg
- Saturday – Long Run, family dinner out
- Sunday – hike
This Coming Week on the Blog –
- Tuesday – Ted Corbitt 15K Race Recap
- Friday – The Benefit of Shoe Insoles

Wow! I think I’m doing my second race of the year today. And you seem to pack in more social events in a week than I do in a year too.
You’ve had a good year for sure.

Ha ha… being healthy makes it a great year… can’t run races if you are injured (as you know unfortunately)

It’s sometimes hard to fit it all in… I doubt I will be able to next week…

Way to finish the year strong! Always impressed with how many races you fit into the year. Staying injury free is a real win!

Exactly… we have a lot of local ones but being consistent I think helps stay injury-free.

You’ve really had a great year- 33 races and no injuries! You should do a recap post- best race, worst race, hottest race, coldest race, etc. Anyway I hope you enjoyed your race today and didn’t get snowed on!

we got snowed on but had fun anyway. Of course I will try to recap the year.

There are two weeks left. I think you’ll find another race 😀
Congratulations on an amazingly strong year.
I agree with Jenny, you should do that as a year end

Aww, lots of fun celebrations this week! And an extra rest day or two this time a year is usually a good thing 🙂 I love this free race series- what a cool event!

it is great… it snowed but I walked most with a injured friend and had a blast.

I’m really envious of all your racing! 2022 was a bit #meh in comparison to what I usually have on my calendar.

Oh but you do so many other things – workouts, biking, stairs… I just RUN!!

I do not envy you driving to LI.
It really wasn’t slippery at Vischer Ferry — until I hit that patch of ice. Much prettier, too.

And I have to drive back Thursday night. Ugh.

I agree. I can race so much because I am healthy. You never know when that will change.

Thanks. I’ve had years where I raced more. But I’m happy that I can.

I’m done with races for the year. We are doing Hannukah on Sunday with my parents, celebrating the Solstice next Wednesday with friends, and then my parents will come for Christmas Eve. My mom might have to work on Christmas, so I may make it a day of pajamas and snacks. Mr PugRunner likes to have a big, fancy meal, but quite frankly, he doesn’t do any of the prep and I doubt he will have much energy for the holiday, so I’m giving myself a pass.

You deserve a pass. My holidays are pretty low key.
