Ultimate Coffee Date for September ’22

It’s that time of the month…

LITTLE MISS

RUNS 5KS

time to join up with Coco & Deborah
for their ultimate coffee date.

1. Over coffee…

I’d tell you that although I had THREE running activities scheduled for next weekend, I decided on running the local 5k (instead one in RI or the Brooks event in NYC).

SEPT 10, 2022

It saves me time, money, etc.  Being practical for once.

And I will also able to attend a party afterward for tennis friend (who has cancer) that day and some other local events that weekend.

2.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that a brand NEW 5k is being offered on the rail trail that I usually run on  Of course, I couldn’t resist signing up.

SEPT. 24, 2022

It’s downhill and close to home.

It’s called Barn to Bridge.

3.Over coffee

I’d tell you that I will be working from home until at least January 1, 2023.  However, once we train people in a computer lab (rather than remotely), I will not be at home on those days.

As you know, working from home allows me to be more flexible with scheduling my runs…

before work, during lunch or after work:

4.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that the nearby YMCA has offered a FREE one month membership.  So you will again see gymfies!

I’ll sign up in September. It should be cool enough by then to postpone my runs until lunch or after work so I can go to the gym before work.

Miss these???

5.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that four weeks ago, I gave in and got another cat (to replace my cat who died.)

Why haven’t you seen pics?

He has been hiding in our basement ever since.  Our other cat Champ hid for 6 weeks so hopefully, this kitten will warm up to us soon.

picture from his cage at the shelter.

Happy Running! What’s new with you?  Please share.

    • They have been extending our work from home… who knows when it will end…

Yes the kitty looks sweet if only he would come out of hiding …

Free is free and I might join if I knew I’d be working from home permanently since the gym is near where I live.

  1. sounds like working from home will be much more convenient for you especially in the cold months when you can run at lunch. Love to see you back at the gym-you know I am a big proponent of strength training. You should see if they will give you a free permanent membership if you promote gym use amongst your running squad.

  2. Oh, is he an orange tabby? I LOVE orange tabbies!!! They’re usually very friendly, so hopefully he’ll warm up soon. I’m glad you got him and are able to be patient with him- a lot of people wouldn’t want to adopt a cat that shy. How old is he?
A downhill 5K close to home sounds perfect- and it looks like a beautiful course.
That’s great you’re getting another free month at the gym! Maybe you’ll actually inspire me to get back to my gym- I’ve been thinking about it.

  3. I got real comfortable working from home with my recent Covid situation. It was SO nice doing my morning fitness stuff and not having to hurry to get showered, shampooed & shined up before 8:00. The downside, though, was the huge pile of paperwork waiting for me when I got back (that no one thought to do for me or even bring to my house). Your new kitty is adorable 😉

  4. I’m not the least bit surprised you got a new cat. When we got Giz & Simba they just walked right in (so to speak) as if they owned the place. Of course we’d adopted them from friends, so there was never any time in a shelter. My elderly cat at the time was not enthusiastic.

  5. Such a cutie! Hope he starts to feel at home real soon!
After EIGHT months, our old cat is finally warming up to our new cat! They are not friends yet but are tolerating each other (with a few bust-ups and stare-downs here and there). At one point, I thought we’d have to give the new one away but I think we are finally winning!
