It was a busy week. But I am beginning to think they all are.
I fit in my runs and so training is done!
One more week until Half Marathon #60!!
Last Week:
- Sunday – Boating Sunday.
It threatened rain but the rain never happened. Lake George is a perfect place to beat the humidity.
- Monday – Love my Mondays off. I planned to run first thing but again the forecast was for rain (that never appeared.) My friend and I debated where to go and it seemed less likely to rain in VT so off we went. We had a lovely lunch and then hiked up to a waterfall.
5 miles for the day ended with ice cream…. No run, though.
- Tuesday – I got up very early and met a friend for a run on the rail trail.

new sights on the rail trail and we got 6 miles done before the rain!! (yes, I usually only run 3 but I had to make up for yesterday’s missed run)
My post-work walk plans got rained out so I headed to the library and grocery store (trying to stay dry.)
- Wednesday – Another pre-work run. Today was solo and in the hood and VERY VERY HUMID!!!!
No rain today so I was able to meet friends for a walk on the rail trail after work.
- Thursday – I took today off from work for an annual breakfast and track day. My former co-worker and I have been doing this every summer since the 80’s!!!
As usual, I didn’t win much money but had a great time.
Unfortunately I got back too late to join my running friends at the last ARE-sponsored weekly trail run.
- Friday – Another rest day because I never run the day before or after long runs and races.
And I was hosting mah jongg … gotta shop and clean…
- Saturday – Long Run Saturday.
Just a taper of 10 miles.
I arrived early and ran 2 miles (in the rain) and then joined my friends for 8 more.
To celebrate, we gathered after at the home of one of our running friends for brunch and mimosas.
- Sunday – Boating Sunday.
It promises to be another gorgeous summer day.
This Coming Week on the Run–

OMG, “just” a 10 mile run is something I will never say!
Love that artwork under the bridge — looks like they would have needed major scaffolding to do it.
Enjoy the water today!

After the 12 miler in the oppressive heat, this was easy. And I ran short intervals.

Looks like another great training week for you in the books. You also got in some fun social stuff!

I’m relieved that the long runs are done.
But as you know I have another half in a month.

I love that you have so many running friends to hang with, even if you’re not running. Of course, I love the artwork under the bridge too! We have a similar underpass on the edge of town, but it usually has graffiti (and not the “good” kind).

This mural was designed as paint by number.
Yes my running friends are great.

I love the pictures from your five mile hike, and I love how you ran 6 miles on Tuesday to make up for missing the run on Monday.
Every long run should end with brunch and mimosas! Sounds like you’re ready for your half. Enjoy your day at the lake!

I’m glad you agree. Though we end with food. Not the mimosas.
I’m neurotic about my runs.

I was sorry to miss yesterday’s get together but another trip to my mom unfortunately is eating up my time this weekend (and running). Really hoping the aide can stay put for a while after this one . . .

It was a lot of eating. But always fun to run with others.

I swear the summer rain keeps evaporating before it lands. Yay VErmont. We were going to come home via NY, but the ferry wasn’t running so we skipped Burlington and drove the long ass way home, not that they aren’t both.
Glad you had such a fun week. You’re going to kick the race’s ass next week. When you ran your first did you ever think you’d catch up to your decade in Halfs?

I planned to run one. Lol.
Too bad about no NYS stopover.
Miss you.

I think you should get an award for packing the most into a week. I’m always in awe of how much you accomplish and still find time to do fun stuff with friends.

It doesn’t seem like a lot when I read everyone’s else’s blogs lol.
You are quite busy as well.

That art under the bridges is gorgeous.
I sure do wish we had a place to go to beat the humidity. It’s just unbearable here.

That’s what I hear. But your ocean views…
And our winters are the pits.

Love the boating pics! I’d have trouble dressing as my cats – brown and stripy with white shoes and an orange stomach!
