J-R
Originally Donna from Running to Travel the World posted this challenge. I completed it twice:
Last Tuesday, I changed it up and chose those PLACES where I’ve raced or run (A-I). This is a continuation from that post.
- J – Jones Beach (LI), NY
I grew up going to the beach quite often during the summer months. I even worked at the theater there during college vacations.
During the weekend of my 40th high school reunion, I decided to finally run there.
- K – Killington, VT
I’ve run the Vermont City Marathon Relay twice but in this Vermont city, I have only run a 5k. (It is a LONG drive!)

yes, a chair lift was part of the 5k and 15k.
- L. – Las Vegas, NV
Many times before I became a runner, I travelled to Vegas for a vacation. I did go back once to run the Rock n Roll 5k and half with some bloggers.

recognize anyone?
- M – Montreal and Melbourne, FL
I’ve visited Montreal several times and have run there. I also ran the Rock N Roll half marathon and 5k in this city.
My sister-in-law used to live in Florida and when I visited her, I would run a half marathon (and it rained both times. boo!)
- N – Naples, FL
I vacation there every May but it was where I ran my first half marathon. Since then, I’ve run a few 5ks there.
- O – Orlando, FL
Yes, another Florida vacation. No race this time. Just a run before visiting the Disney parks.
- P – Philadelphia, PA and Panama City, FL.
Unfortunately, it was a rainy weekend for my half marathon in Philly. I definitely want to re-visit this city.
My visit to Panama City was for a weekend with fellow running bloggers (and a half marathon, of course.)
- Q – Queens, NY
Well, I did run through Queens during the NYC Marathon.
- R – Rochester, NY
Another city in NYS where I have run while travelling for work. It’s probably my second favorite place to run besides NYC.
AND
Happy Running! Ever run in any of these places? Please share.
Since it’s Tuesday, I’m joining the link-up organized by Zenaida and Kim (Kooky Runner)
I’m also linking up here:
with co-hosts Coach Debbie Runs, Confessions of a Mother Runner, Mile by Mile, Runs with Pugs, and Laura Norris Running.
Hmmm! I’m visited most of these places (not Montreal, unfortunately) and I’ve run in Naples, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Queens (also during the NYC marathon.) I’m looking forward to the end of the alphabet and wondering if you have an X or Z!

Naples, Florida!! Forever my favourite place in the US because I have such great memories. I loved running there. I’m convinced we were there at the same time but never met up.
What a shame – I would have loved to meet you in person.

I agree. Do I have to come to Switzerland? Or are you coming to visit in the US?

You’ll need to come to Switzerland or Cape Town, Darlene! That’s your assignment now.

Ha ha. Paris may be the closest I’ll get.

I’ve run in all but your first 2 and last place here. My race in Philly was so much fun and I’ve heard other runners say they loved their races there.

I need a Philly do over.

I am working on my list-the second half of the alphabet is much more challenging 🙂 I still have not run in Orlando. The Disney races seem like a hassle but who knows? Maybe one day. Philly is one of my fave places to run as well

Definitely would not race in Orlando. $$
As I’ve mentioned I need to return to Philly.

It looks like we have run in many of the same cities 🙂 Las Vegas was fun but a little strange (especially the 5K). I also did RnR Montreal but really didn’t like it due to the crazy heat that weekend and a few other factors.

I love Montreal but wasn’t thrilled with the RnR race.

I’ve done Philly and Las Vegas, but that’s it from your list. I have started making a list of all the places I’ve run, for just such a post, but I haven’t had a chance to write about it. Stay tuned.

Looking forward to it. We need to meet up again.

I have run in Naples and Orlando! But never in Las Vegas, even though I’ve been there, lol. The logistics were overwhelming to me, all those overpasses and bridges.

You almost joined us in Vegas. Hopefully we’ll meet again someday.

I’ve been to alot of these places but haven’t run in them for various reasons! I did run in Philly twice when I ran the marathon there!

Most of my travels were not with running. Sigh.
It seems Philly is very popular.

Oh I love this idea and may have to make my own version of this post! Now I need to go find your A-I post!

I hope you do post. You’ve run in many interesting places, I’m sure.

Well, I’ve run in Las Vegas! I’d really have to do some thinking to do this challenge. I have run in a lot of places but I never thought about it alphabetically!
