Ultimate Coffee Date for April

It’s that time of the month…

Life Is Better When You're Running 11-oz Mug Marathon image 0

to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.

1.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I do not own any exercise equipment.  So I could take some online classes. Many are even offered free.

I have not.

I actually miss my little gym

Have you taken any online classes? Do you miss going to the gym?

2.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I ran the NYC Half Marathon Virtually.  Does it count as my 42nd half??

Do you plan to run your cancelled races virtually?

3.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I hate working from home but at least I am making the effort to get dressed (does workout clothes count?) and go for a 30 minute walk at lunch every day. I am lucky to have a few nearby trails.

How are you coping with working from home? Are you getting outside more?

4.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I can work from home thanks to technology.

my work helper

We use ZOOM for meetings and Webex to teach.

I’m even using ZOOM for meeting up with my friends.

Anyone else using technology more? ZOOM meet ups anyone?

5.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I normally either cook or go out to eat.  Rarely do I do take-out but I want to support local businesses so I’ve ordered here many times (do not judge):

so glad that my favorite ice cream place did not close

How are you supporting local businesses?

It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five linkup! Join in! Don’t forget to link back to your hostess and visit some other bloggers.

  1. I wish I had trails close to me. One of these days when it’s not raining I may have to go to Colonie Park. I’m sure the bike path there is packed, but the trails probably not. Probably a muddy mess though & they’re really technical.

I do get dressed. But for obvious reasons, it’s workout clothes. Although I’m not dressed yet. Mr. Judy is still sleeping. It’s really late for Lola to go out for her first morning “visit”, hope things are ok in there.

  2. I was already disillusioned with my gym and thinking of cancelling my membership, so this is a good trial for me to see how I can deal without it 🙂 I’ve been enjoying trying out different types of fitness classes at home. I love that cat is staying close by during your work from home 🙂

  3. I always work from home so that is no different. Having the distraction of everyone else at home is the change. The afternoons are not as productive as I’d like but mom’s taxi is on hiatus so there’s that. I miss the gym a little, but I’m blessed with a great home gym.
I am amazed by the number of people doing the ZOOMA Challenge I am coaching who do not own even a set of hand weights or a resistance band.

    • Ha ha. That would be me.

Yes I’m kinda glad the kids are grown. What a challenge to have everyone there at the same time. Al the time.

I’m saving gas money not driving to work. There’s that.

      See you tomorrow. Virtually.

  4. My gym has started doing a ton of classes via Zoom but I just can’t get motivated to join them. We walk every day and that’s about it. Better than nothing, I suppose.

I do get dressed every day but some days are less dressed than others, LOL.

    • I know. I can’t get myself to workout looking at a computer screen.

My work/go out clothes are not getting much wear… When was the last time I wore shoes??

Walking is great exercise. Many people do not even do that. They watch Netflix all day.

  5. We actually got our first takeout this week. Mr PugRunner works as a medical recruiter (its his own business), so we had to see how things were shaking out before we started spending. I was really happy to be able to support our local places, and I am sick of the food I am cooking myself. I have zero interest in any of it.

I miss the gym. I miss classes. I miss a lot of everything. As an introvert, I can handle it, but having the boys at home makes my space seem a little tighter. I love being with them, but they are hard to contain sometimes.

  6. I definitely miss going to the gym, but I’m glad there are at least online classes to take in the interim!

For us, they closed most of the nearby trails because there were too many people on them, but I’m hoping to start a habit of going on a daily walk outside–I miss the outdoors. I’ve been having ZOOM dates with my friends and trying to order takeout from favorite restaurants over the weekend to help support them!

  7. I did run my canceled half marathon virtually but to me, it just seemed like another 13 mile run. Nothing special. We ran on trails we often run on.

I have been doing Judy’s yoga videos and really loving them. I should do Body Pump classes but I would have to use my husband’s weights, which are set for him, not me and I would have to change them around…not sure I really want to do that. I miss going to the gym!

    • I agree. Mine was just a run but I did run 13.1 so that was something.

I have a hard time being motivated to get on the computer after being on it all day for work so I have not done her videos. If I do, it would be a live one.

I should exercise…but no mojo for that either.

  8. Did you see that the Peloton app is free for 3 months? They have a ton of classes, not just cycling and running. Maybe you could find something you would like. Although now I finally realize how you stay so thin–you just can’t sit still! LOL

  9. Oh, you are so lucky that ice cream place is still open! We haven’t had take-out until now, but last night we got pizza and tonight we are getting Indian food. I’m so bored with my repertoire of recipes and my husband needs a break from my healthy cooking once in a while! I’ve got a gym decent set up in my basement and have been doing Peleton App and Corepower yoga workouts.

  10. My barre studio is offering live classes on Zoom. It has definitely helped me stay motivated, more so than me using an app would. I’m slowly trying to ramp up my running. My first day back to work was Thursday. I’m grateful I can work from home! And I will continue to squeeze in little walks when I can!
