After four weeks of working in NYC and two weekends away, it was nice to be home and sleep in my own bed.
NYCM Training continued of course.
Last Week –
- Monday – I spend today in RI with my college roommate. I started out the day with a recovery run along the beach.
Then we went kayaking for about 2 hours. Yikes. I have never used those muscles before. So sore.
We finished the day with a boat ride to a beach to relax.
This weekend away was just what the doctor ordered.
- Tuesday – Back home and back at work. Took a rest day, went to the chiro and then a walk around the mall with my BFF.
- Wednesday – Fleet Feet sponsored a run night so I agreed to go with a friend. I got there early so ran 1.5 miles and then sampled some Untapped fuel and ran 3 miles with my friend and a new running friend. Nice change of scenery. Heat and humidity returned but it was only for a day.
- Thursday – Rained all day. But when I got out of work, it was not raining. Headed to the Corning Bike trail where was nearby to squeeze in a run …
Then off to an early release viewing of this movie:
- Friday – Rest day. Finally got to play mah jongg with the girls.
- Saturday – Long Run Day with my Sole Sisters. My plan called for 16 miles. I ran 8 solo though I did run with Jan for a bit. Then Barbara arrived to run the next 8 but for the last mile I told her to run ahead as I was pooped. I thought it might rain but actually the weather was perfect.
After we all headed to a birthday party. Good food and good times. Running friends are the best.
- Sunday – Still nice weather for boating on Lake George. Lucky us. We relaxed and BBQed
and then I went for a long walk in the trails.
As much as I love traveling, there is nothing better than sleeping in my own bed! Glad you got to be at home. Enjoy!

Sounds like a great week. I enjoy kayaking but it does use totally different muscles than running! Our weather is still warm and humid and I can’t take it anymore!

Traveling is always amazing and exhausting! Your few days off look very relaxing. So excited to see Downton next weekend

Loved that movie. Interested in hearing what you think.
And that day off was just what I needed.

Nothing like coming home after travel! I’m sure it feels great.
Great job on that long run- lots of great miles for you this week!

not as many miles as the plan calls for but it is what it is and I just want to get through 26.2.

Congrats on the 16-miler! It’s neat reaching those new distances, isn’t it (though it is exhausting LOL). I have not watched Downton Abbey (but the hubby has, ha!). A bunch of friends are eager to see the movie, and I told them someone would have to be my “interpreter” because I don’t know any of the characters or story line…

So glad that you were back home this week – you’ve been traveling so much lately! Congrats on your 16-miler this weekend. It’s always fun when you reach a new “long” distance – that’s part of the fun training for your first marathon 🙂

away for the next 4 weeks. Running mid-week will be a challenge. Next up 18 and then 20 and I’m cooked.

If anybody can manage travel and marathon training, it’s you! I think lesser people would be missing their runs due to it, but not you!
I cannot wait to see Downton Abbey!!! I’ve missed the characters.

Right now it feels as though I’m never going to run another half, but I’m sure there’s some more in my future some day. Perhaps a 5k next Sunday, this week will be challenging with a couple of visits to my parents.
Sounds like you had a nice week.

Busy as usual. Healthy so not complaining.

You will run another half. Your parents won’t be around forever. Family is more important than running as I’m sure you agree. Just a temporary set back. Looking forward to taking one of your yoga classes.

Doesn’t it feel good to be home in your own bed? Way to go on your 16 miler. You are in great shape for your marathon. Kayaking looks like so much fun. I want to give it a try.

It was so fun. Need to do it again.
Still a ways to go for 26.2.

I can’t wait for the Downton Abby movie. The only thing is that I watched the show on the treadmill while running so I’m torn between seeing it when it comes out or waiting until I can rent it and watch it on the treadmill.

Tough choice. Go see it on the big screen.
