It’s that time of the month…

of course I got a new mug…
Since it is Friday, here are five things that I’d like to share…
1. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I’m home bound on the weekends for several months!! Hooray! My last weekend away was in NYC last weekend!
- Elizabeth
Are you a homebody or do you enjoy traveling?
2.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I finally did sign up for a half marathon in 2019. In fact, I signed up for THREE!
I am excited about both of these races although neither one is a goal race. They will both be just for FUN!!!

Feb 10, 2019 (Melbourne, FL)

March 17, 2019 (Brooklyn to Manhattan)
Maybe I’ll decide to train for this one. It’s an inaugural race so I don’t know how hilly the race course is but at least I can sleep in my own bed the night before.
Have you signed up for any big races yet in 2019? Do you prefer big races that you travel to or local ones?
3.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I am trying to add some more races to my schedule as 2018 draws to a close. I dread the cold weather here in the NE. I will run but not many races until spring.
- 11-11-18 – Stockade-athon
- 11-17-18 – Girls on the Run 5K
- 11-22-18 – Troy Turkey Trot 10k
- 11-24-18 – Pelham Half Marathon
- 12-08-18 – Albany Last Run 5K
- 12-09-18- Winter Series #1 (3m)

Are you trying to squeeze in races before the winter season?
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that as much as I love NYC, I’m not sure I am looking to working there 3 weeks in November and 2 weeks in December. Fingers crossed for no snow or ice and weather like this:
not this:
Anyone else in NYC on weekdays during the months of Nov. or Dec.?
5.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I am denial about the cold weather. I am trying not to wear winter running clothes because I will be wearing them until May. However, it has been COLD. One day, in particular, it was in the 40s but windy. I wore capris and a shirt – no jacket, no gloves, no tights. I had to quit after one mile I was so cold. The next day, I caved:
In the 40s again and I was determined not to bundle up. I was freezing before and after but OK during the race:
Do you hesitate to bundle up when running even though you know you should?
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five linkup! Join in! Don’t forget to link back to your hostess and visit some other bloggers.

Happy Running! Got anything to spill? Share it here!

I can’t believe I’ve already had to haul out some of my winter running clothes, but being sweaty & chilled after a run is not good for my health.
Plans for 2019 are still up in the air.
I do enjoy traveling, but not all the time. Living out of a suitcase is not fun.

Yeah. Tell me about it. I have 3 suitcases – all in some state of packed/unpacked.
Trying to hold off on the winter gear as long as possible – supposed to be high 60s today…skirt weather.

Text me your dates – other than the gala I can probably get together.
I’ll just miss you in Florida by a week and a hundred miles or so. But yay on NYC Half. If your transport home isn’t right after, maybe we can grab a coffee then. Too cold in March for ice cream!
I have the 10K Trot, a random local NYRR race the Saturday before and a 15K in December. Depending on life I might do the midnight run on New Years Eve

In NYC, Nov 5 & 7, 19 & 20
Dec 10,11,12,13, 19,20
We should be able to coordinate a run or 5 LOL.
For NYC half, I’ll be taking the bus back at 6:45 pm…plenty of time to commiserate.

Hah! You’re heading back to Albany on the 20th? I’m going up for Thanksgiving on the 21st.
I’m on for the latter December dates. Away the week of the 10th – gala recovery
There’s a nice Starbucks next to NYRR Run Center if you want to get your medal engraved too

I’m headed back to Albany on Nov 21 too. 5:47 pm train. And you?
I had my Brooklyn Half medal engraved there.

As of right now I have one race I signed up for on Thanksgiving. And I will try to sign up for a Chridtmas one as one. I have nothing in 2019 so far that I signed up for.

You have some great races scheduled already for 2019!

I hope they are. And I hope I have good weather and remain uninjured!!

How great that you’ve already got some great races lined up for 2019! I have one half in May but otherwise, I have signed up for nothing yet.

I heard that that race was a good one. If only I lived closer.

I’m also in cold-weather-clothing denial, too. I ran in capri’s the other day when it was 39F…and I was alright. I did take gloves, though, for the first couple miles 😉

I usually regret bundling up for a run, so I try not to. It’s hard to be away in December, but NYC is so pretty that time of year. I’m generally planning on my usual spring 10 milers, but haven’t signed up for anything. Thanks for joining us!

Ten milers are the best distance. Wish we had some. Our only one has been discontinued

I’m running my usual fall Turkey Trot Half Marathon in November, then I”m done for 2018. I’ve got a few things cooking for January but until they are confirmed, I”m keeping it on the down low. I continue my “winging it” approach to racing for 2019.

I love traveling. I wish I could do it all the time. My wallet won’t allow it so I have to be fairly sensible. I’m not always though. I don’t really like traveling for work and luckily I don’t have to since I left Starbucks (I did have a few fun work trips for Starbucks though – Seattle and Rwanda amongst more local trips).
I’m squeezing in a couple of races but I’m not really bothered about racing at the moment. Not that i “race” haha! I’m still figuring it all out for next year. Great that you have THREE Halves on the books for next year!! Does that NY Half give any indication of another, longer distance in NYC???
i’ve been so cold lately running, I don’t know why I can’t warm up. I do hesitate though to add so many layers, etc, because, yeah, I hate to give in to the season. Why can’t it be really cold in month or so. Not now!

If I had the time & money, I would be traveling all the time.
I’ve been cold too. I guess my body is not ready yet.

Best of luck to you on all your half marathons next year! I hope you have lots of fun! I hope the weather will be nice–I’m in NJ so if the weather isn’t too bad in NYC, that might mean I’ll be okay too! 😛

Hope we both have good running weather.
