Today’s topic is FIVE REASONS WHY I ENJOY MY ANNUAL TENNIS VACATION:
1. It’s affordable.
Every year, I go to Naples, Fla. in May. It’s off-season so the flights are not expensive. We rent two villas that sleep 5 each. (It’s costs us about $250 each for 8 days.) We leave our chairs, umbrellas and beach stuff in the garage from year to year. We rent 2 vans and split the cost. We eat breakfast in the villa, bring our lunch to beach so we only eat dinner out.
2. The weather is warm and dry.
It rarely rains and if it does, it is only for a short time. It is warm (and at that time of year, usually still cool in the NE.) The sunsets on the Gulf are amazing, too.
3. I run.
This is one of the best things, of course. I can run around the private communities or on the sidewalk along the main road. The only downside is that it is not close enough to the beach to run with water views. And you have to get up early since it is warm and humid.
4. I play tennis and take lessons.
The 10 of us (and the make-up of the group can vary) met playing tennis although we no longer play together at home. So every morning we play doubles and take lessons with a tennis pro.
5. I go to the beach every day.
Love the sand…the sun…the water…ahhhh!
Bonus:
I eat and drink whatever pleases me!!
Happy Running! Do you have a favorite vacation?
Our favorite place (at least so far) is Kauia. Obviously we don’t get there all that often, but we’ve been blessed to go 2 more times after that first time about 20 years ago.
Sometimes the best vacation is the next one. 🙂
And Vegas, oddly enough, is probably our most visited place!

Paris is my favorite but obviously I don’t go there often. I’d love to go to Hawaii. Are you joining us for the half in Vegas?

Dunno. Leaning towards not since I haven’t registered & doubt I want to pay that much for a half. I’ll suffer serious FOMO, no doubt, but that’s the way it goes.

You can’t do them all. After all, you did NOLA and now Utah.

I wouldn’t have FOMO over the race, just missing out on the shenanigans. Although I suspect I wouldn’t want to stay up for them anyway!

I can see why you enjoy your Florida vacation so much! My favorite is Maui – I’ve been there twice and cannot wait to return. But our Orlando vacations with the kadults have been pretty amazing, too. 🙂

My tennis friends are like your Renegades – always a good time. I would love to go to Hawaii. For now, I have to stick to the East coast.

I’ve been to a handful of places in Florida, but not Naples. It looks amazing! So much fun to meet up with friends every year.

I do recommend Naples if you have the chance. I am lucky to have this yearly opportunity.

I think my favorite vacations have been all inclusive resorts. It is really nice to have drinks, food, and activities included.

I’ve never done that but I have friends who have and they love it.

What a fun vacation! That’s great that it’s a place you know well and so affordable. We don’t really have a place we go every year but have instead been trying to see different places.

At first we did try different places but we got lazy and this is easier.

Oh my gosh, who doesn’t love a beach trip! I’ve only visited Naples once and it was beautiful! We went in December and I was laying out by the pool in a swimsuit…that’s what is so awesome about Florida, especially South Florida. Looks like you ladies have this trip down to an art! 🙂

We’ve done a lot of fun vacations, but seldom go back to the same place year after year. We’re probably gonna get some kind of a time-share place eventually, where we can hibernate for a month or so during the winter month(s).

That should be fun. Hope sone place with a race.
