This week, the theme is Favorite Winter Activities
I’ll say it up front. I hate the cold!!
If I didn’t run, I would never go outside.
I don’t ski, snowboard, ice skate, sled, snow shoe…nada!
Keeping that in mind, here are my favorites:
1. Running (only cuz I sign up for races & winter half marathons to make me get out there)
2. Tennis (Indoors) – I play doubles once a week.
3. Knitting – I am not very experienced but I have made socks, hats & scarfs.
4. Cooking (on the weekends) – I love to make soups & chili.
5. Reading – I always read every night before I go to sleep.
These two are recent favorites:
I just started this one:
Happy Running! What are some of your favorite winter activities?
I was not a huge fan of All the Light We Cannot See. I liked it, but I just didn’t think it was as great as everyone said. I almost always enjoy Jodi Picoult, although I haven’t read her in a long time. Always love that twist of irony.
I actually do love ice skating . . . but there’s the time thing. Can barely fit in the things I want to do now!

I skied and ice skated when I was younger but didn’t enjoy either. HATED BEING OUT IN THE COLD!! Anyway, my ankle would not tolerate either now.

I don’t like skiing. My family skiied when I was a kid, but it was never my thing. Too scary!

Oh I wish I had some sort of talent like knitting seems so relaxing!

It is. It’s not hard esp if you don’t make complicated items.

I first read your comment as “complicated errors” because that’s where I go when I knit, all too often. But you are right, it isn’t hard, and it is fun. 🙂

It can be hard but I stick to the easy stuff and it is fun. I wish I had more time to devote to it. I would probably then tackle more complicated projects.

Those are some awesome ways to stay stimulated during the cold months, lady! I don’t knit, but I crochet! Maybe we could stitch together some day.:)

That would be awesome. I don’t spend enough time on it – I’ve been making the same pair of socks since July LOL

You’ve gotta know that my number 1 will always be ice skating. How fun that you knit!

I LOVE to watch ice skating. In fact, it is my favorite sport to watch – Go Gracie Gold!!

LOVE those socks and hats! You do great work! I was raised in Arizona… winter and I don’t get along very well, lol, (although I hate running in the heat).

I’m reading that one by Jodi Picoult as well! Just started it last night!

OMG I loved All the Light We Cannot See. Loved it.
I also hate winter. It sucks. I want to live on the beach where it’s warm all the time. And I don’t even like the beach all that much! So I’m with you — if it weren’t for running I would never go outside in winter. 🙂

I hate the cold, too! Reading was one of my winter activities, too, but mostly I just read blogs and social media lately. I need to change that.

Me too. I don’t read as much as I should
