It’s that time of the month…
time to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.
1.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that after 17 years of playing mah jongg weekly, I finally bought a mah jongg set. (on FB MarketPlace… the price was right!)
2.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that the summer flew by and when boating ends so does my expanded reading time..
I’ve read so far:
-
- The Calamity Club
- Theo of Golden
- My Husband’s Wife
- Pineapple Street
- Yesteryear
- Strangers: a memoir of marriage
- The Divorce
- Once and Again
- Whistler
- The Storm
- The Midnight Train
- The first Wish of Mr Murray McBride
- The last Wish of Mr Murray McBride
- It’s hard to be an animal
3. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that nothing has changed with my 3rd cat, Dali. She still stays mostly upstairs and hates the other two cats… (and yes, I’ve tried every trick on Google.)
And she is still afraid of my hubby.
She likes me, at least.
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I’ve 11 PT appointments. Did they make a difference? I think so. I have someone dictating and watching me do the exercises and I have access to different devices.
5.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that after this half marathon, I’m looking forward filling up my end of the year race calendar with shorter races.

That’s a crazy race schedule! I got nothing!
Are you still doing PT? I didn’t go back since my vacay and my hip seems good. I am still doing some of the exercises.

trying to keep moving without a big race on my schedule –
last PT (per script) is Thursday.

That is a lot of PT! I’m sure it helped. Was the main goal to increase range of motion? My ROM in my left achilles is not good- I should work on that.
The only one of your books that I’ve read is Yesteryear (which I really liked) but I’ve heard of most of them. And… bummer about the cats! So Dali hates the other two… do they tolerate her? You’d think it would be the other way around, since she came into their territory. Well- cats are weird. I guess as long as they’re not physically fighting, it’s okay. I mean Muffin hisses a LOT at Foxy and Sylvie (it’s her favorite way to communicate, lol) but they all get along fine.

Definitely did more range of motion BOTH ankles.
No Dali attacks them. Not good. She wants to be left alone in her room… Domino wants to play.

Good for you for being so diligent with the PT. That’s a lot of races coming up. Shorter ones are more fun, IMO. Haha! I’ve read a few books by Chloe Walsh this Summer (Binding 13 and Saving 6) and I’m currently reading November 9 by Colleen Hoover but mostly the Bakery keeps me busy!

Yes. Your bread posts make me very hungry. I have read all of Hoover’s books – some good, some not.

Good for you to do the PT! I swear it has been helping my hip and ensuring I can still run (mostly) pain free. I’ve been using a PT app that has been great for me to get it in nearly every day. I read about half of those books – which were your favorites? Any recommendations?

My favorites were Husband’s Wife and Theo of Golden.

Bummer that your boating season is almost coming to an end and that your extra reading time will be ending, too. You certainly were able to read a lot of books this summer. And speaking of “a lot” of something, wow, you’ve got a lot of races coming up!
Too bad that the new kitty can’t get along with your other cats and doesn’t like your husband. Do you think she’ll ever come around?
Glad you felt physical therapy helped!

I’m not sure about the kitty. She’s like no other than I’ve had.
I’m even sadder about losing daylight.

Good to hear that the PT is making a bit of a difference!
You have a great schedule until the end of the year. I am sure there will be another half-marathon popping up between this one and March!

Savannah is in April… unless I do more travel, there won’t another.

Way to go with all that PT! I’m guessing it’s helped given your race schedule for the rest of the year. Happy racing!

Not sure. I’m good with ignoring the discomfort.

My reading has stalled a little. I haven’t been able to make it to my book clubs, so that’s been a bummer. And I got sucked into re-reading The Odyssey (mistake lol) and then I was sad and started re-reading Project Hail Mary. So I’ll get back on track.
Lots of fun races for you! And I love your mahjong set!

As I said, there’s not much to do when boating so I read… that will end soon.

Oooh, I love how you’re filling up your time with races!
The cat situation sounds tough. I’m glad she likes you, at least! Is this also a rescue cat? Did she come from some abusive background or what do you think is the problem?

I adopted her from a pet store and she was a rescue with no background… she is probably scarred.
