WRD for 7.19.26-7.26.26: Just MOOV’ing Forward…

Ice Cream TWICE this week.

After my 5k and after a trail walk.

Last Week-

  • Sunday – Keep MOOV’ing 5k.  We ran it 2 years ago for the first time and loved it.

chocolate milk 🙂

Last year it rained and we DNSed. This year, we decided that we are going rain or shine but hoping for shine.

And rain was on and off in the forecast. I drove to Heidi’s and we left at 7am to get to Lee, MA where the race will be held.

Since my Achilles is still not 100%, the course was hilly and I had run 6 miles Friday before, I planned to walk most of it… but more importantly, finish before they ran out of ice cream.

And we did. The weather was perfect – breezy and cool (yet sunny).  The endless hill on mile 3 was still there… but worth it for the ice cream!

  • Monday – DAY OFF. I was hoping to go hiking with friends..

Instead I met up with Deirdre for a run on the rail trail…

another beautiful weather day…

and then I attended a bench dedication for a tennis friend who died (at a tennis court where she played).

Afterward, we went out for brunch.

In the evening I met my BFF for a walk.

  • Tuesday -A busy WFH day but I squeezed in a gym visit first thing.

One of our running friends who moved away was in town for a visit. Everyone met up for lunch (but I had to work).

Happy that she accommodated me and we met after work.

Since I was tied to my desk from 8-4, I decided to go for  a walk. Unfortunately the rain forced me into the mall.

  • Wednesday – A live teaching day so only Starbucks…

I thought about a run afterward, my Achilles felt weird (not stiff as before but a burning ache) after my mall walk last night so I played it safe.

and then a ZOOM call with some college friends.

  • Thursday –  Good News!  My foot felt normal again (no burning pain!).  So I got my run in before work. I decided to hit the HS track and ran 3 miles (200 walk/ 200 run)

warmer than I thought… overdessed.

and after work, I had a hair appt and then I rushed off to the weekly trail run.

I planned to walk (as usual) but my friends couldn’t come… Anyway it was lovely evening and I walked with a lady (who happened to live one house from my stepson. Small world).

of course, I had to get ice cream after…

  • Friday – Back to WFH. I had planned to go to the gym first thing but instead I went for a walk with Jenny as I haven’t seen her in ages. We talked and talked and wound up with 5 miles.

Since Friday night mah jongg was cancelled, I visited with my granddaughter.

  • Saturday – Long Run and Brunch. We met at the Zim Smith trail where I haven’t been since ??? And brunch with the runners and walkers at Leah’s (in her temporary location).

I got 7 miles done with 60:60 run/walk intervals.  I wore new shoes which felt fine for the first 3.5 miles and then the toe box felt too narrow and I got a blister.  Grrr…

After brunch, I furthered recovered with some wine tasting and a cheese wheel.

  • Sunday – gym, boating

  1. I’m glad to hear the Achilles seemed OK for some of the week and you got in a long run! Sorry about the blister – have you tried loosening the laces maybe? Enjoy the gym today! I was in your neck of the woods for 2 days for a quick visit!

  2. That Achilles! It needs to get it together!

I am so sorry I missed you this week, but it looks like you had the most wonderful time with so many adventures! And also, with ice cream! Perfection!
