MY TOPIC TODAY is: 2025 Q2 UPDATE.
Wow, the past THREE months have gone by pretty quickly. (You can read my Q1 Update here.)
So we’re halfway through the year!!
Things have not been perfect and so there’s definitely room for improvement. Of course, many good things happened…
AND there’s still SIX months left!!
The best is yet to come (as they say…)
Running-Related:
- 188 Miles for a 2025 total of 421 Miles
No annual goal this year…
It’s all ok. I will run as many miles as I am able.
As always, my favorite miles were those with friends…
- 9 Races (1-10K, 1-5M, 1-10M, 4-5Ks, 1-3.5M, 1-13.1) – yearly total = 15 races
I’m pretty sure they were all PWs or COURSE PWs… (but I’m trying to be positive here…)
- 2 NEW Races – Yearly total = 3 new races
I love seeing new scenery and/or running new routes…
- 2 Race-Cations- Yearly total = 4 race-cations
- Tropicool 5k in Naples, FL
- Mastercard NY Mini 10k in NYC.
- 5 Age Group Awards – Yearly total = 9 AG awards
- Delmar Dash – 3rd
- Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon – 2nd ($10 off another race)
- Bacon Hill Bonanza 5k – 1st
- Tropicool 5k – 1st

- DNSed 0 Races – Yearly Total =1 DNS
Yay!
- Registered for 10 More Races (5-5K, 1-10Ks, 2-13.1) – Yearly total = 25 Registered Races
I’m super excited about the new ones (bolded)…

- Run for the Roses 5k
- Ellen’s Run
- Run 4 the River Half Marathon
- Squirrel Stampede 10k
- Great Pumpkin Challenge 10k
- Lake Placid Half Marathon
- 4 Blogger Meet-ups – Yearly total = 8 Meet-ups
Catrina was a new one.
So who can I meet in the next 6 months?
- Mentored 1 Running Group and joined the Board for another (STEM)
Race for Women Training Challenge group ended after 10 weeks on 5/31.
STEM is on break until the fall.
It’s always rewarding to help others reach their goals.
Fitness-Related:
- 0 Stationary Bike Rides
I had great aspirations but I seem to only get on the bike when I am injured.
- 29 Gym Visits – Yearly total = 53 Gyms Visits
When I was home, I tried to go to the gym on non-running days which was usually 3 times each week.
- 0 Hiking Mondays
Working full-time so no longer always an option to have the day off. But it’s a great alternative to running and an opportunity to visit new places.
My partner-in-crime has recovered from her injury so hopefully these will resume each month soon.
- Finally Some Walking Tuesdays
Whenever I’m in town and have friends available, there were walks on the local rail trail or in a shopping mall or at the gym track.
- 1 Tennis Monday
I enjoyed playing tennis so much in Florida and wasn’t as rusty as I thought so I plan to play this summer when I can.
- 1 Pickleball Lesson
It seems that everyone is playing pickleball so I signed up for lessons at a nearby park.
Non-Running, Non-Fitness Related:
- More visits to NYC
Some due to work, some not and always an opportunity to connect with friends, see a show and/or visit a park or museum.
- Second Florida Vacation
In May, I went on my annual tennis vacation in Naples, FL. It was filled with many dinners, sunsets, runs, tennis games and more.
- Many Dinners with Friends
Who doesn’t enjoy a meet-up that includes food/drinks?
- 0 Knitting Projects Completed
I have lots of wool and plans but never got around to starting anything…
- 10 Books Read – Yearly total = 23 Books Read
Did you read any of these? Do you have any to recommend?
And my quest for activities are still
Happy Running! How has your year gone so far? What’s left on your list to complete before the year ends? Please share.

Since today is Tuesday, I’m linking up with Zenaida (The Running Teacher) and Jenn (Runs with Pugs).
and tomorrow:

I’m also linking up with: co-hosts Coach Debbie Runs, Confessions of a Mother Runner, Mile by Mile, and Runs with Pugs

Well, 5 age group awards doesn’t sound bad for PW races!
Also, you had no DNS and no DNF, which means that you are not injured! YAY!
It was such a pleasure meeting you and Cari in April! With a bit of luck, I might meet Marcia on Saturday in Zurich!

I’ve met Marcia 3 times. In Fla. LV and Bermuda. She is super nice.
Yes. The best part is no injuries or aches and pains this year.

You are crushing it with the races and meet ups! I love that!
I would also love to hear how your pickleball lessons go! I’ve been toying with the idea of trying the sport, but I don’t have much racquet experience so not sure how it would go.

So far I’m pathetic. Maybe I’ll get better. Worth a try.

If you only get on the stationary bike when you’re injured, and you’ve been on it 0 times this year- I would call that a success!
I’m laughing at your response to Lisa above. i’m sure if you keep at it, you can get good at pickleball! You have all the tennis experience. On the other hand, maybe you would rather just stick with tennis for now.
Let’s focus on all those AG awards and not the PWs. You’re doing great!

If I focus on PWs I will stop racing… they will happen as I age I’m sure.
I don’t think I’m a natural at pickleball compared to the others in the class. I do hope I improve if I ever want to play it.

Great jobs these past months! You have done well in your races and your running/walking miles. Yay for no running injuries, hence, the no bike rides! No one has time for that!

I agree. If you work, you can’t fit it all in and so running it is and yes, very happy to be injury-free…
