I think we skipped spring and went right into summer: heat, humidity and bugs!!
Last Week –
- Sunday – It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday but my hubby was sick so no boating. Today of course, rain on and off and very muggy and warm.
I started the day at the gym and worked (sweat) in the yard and did lots of retail therapy ordering deck stuff.
- Monday – DAY OFF – I actually played tennis this morning. First time since May 8 (in Fla.)
And I finally met up with my running friend to go hiking. But since it was predicted to be close to 100 degrees we decided to hang out at her house (since she lives on a lake.)
On my way home, I stopped off to see my granddaughter.
- Tuesday – My new morning running friend returned from vacation but it was so hot and humid that she bailed on me. So I got up early, drove to the rail trail since at least there was shade there.
A busy day but I was able to get in a walk after work (in the mall).
- Wednesday – No WFH. Three days in a row teaching face to face. No gym and no run today.
I went for a short walk after work and then I had a teacher reunion. My first one since I left my teaching job (where I taught French for over 20 years). It was great to catch up with everyone.
- Thursday – Back teaching live. Rain in the forecast.
I did get in a run after work at the Corning bike path (near where I worked)
And then in the evening, I attended my monthly STEM board meeting ZOOM call.
- Friday – Day 3 of live teaching…
Only mah jongg in the evening.
- Saturday – Long Run and Brunch.. Rain again originally predicted for our Saturday but it didn’t rain so I met up with Barbara to run and have brunch after with the others.
The rest of the day was spent fixing up our new deck.
- Sunday – Gym, gardening, boating?

Your new deck looks so nice! We need some work on ours. This year it has been too hot to sit out there, even with the giant umbrella we have. I feel bad–I didn’t even get any annuals this year.
Your granddaughter is so cute!

I didn’t get many either.
I think we need a bigger umbrella according to my hubby.

Your little granddaughter is adorable! Sounds like a full-on summer week with heat, humidity, bugs, and all! Glad you still managed to squeeze in some good runs, walks, and even tennis. And that new deck sounds like it’ll be perfect for BBQ season. Well done juggling it all, Darlene!

Your deck looks great!
We have a nice patio but just never spend time out there — I think we need more comfortable chairs!

Hope I do. If the weather cooperates.

Oh your deck looks nice! If you sell your boat, you can spend Sundays lounging on the deck, reading and BBQing. Sounds like you had a good week (in spite of the weather.) Yes, it doesn’t sound like you got much of a spring! Oh well- I hope it cools down for you a little this week.

That’s a lovely deck!! Looks like the perfect place for a good bbq. I’m glad summer came at last (even if it’s nice to have spring in between).

Yes. I love the sunshine and the flower – humidity and bugs – not a fan. It is cooler now.
