It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
1.I runfess…
I am pretty dedicated to my running schedule but when sickness and weather derailed my plans two Saturdays in a row, even my friend noticed and posted this in FB:
I think Darlene S. Cardillo has been hacked. Don’t think I’ve ever heard her say something like this ![]()

2. I runfess…
I hate to take running breaks because it is so hard to get back on track.
3. I runfess…
I really enjoy mentoring new runners but this also affects my own running.
I plan to try to run some miles before the group meets each Wednesday at 6 pm.
4. I runfess…
Even when I complain about my slow finish times, I still enjoy the challenge of completing a half marathon.
73 completed (including a few Pandemic virtuals).
Do I go for 100? LOL.
5. I runfess…
Speaking of slow finish times, my first tw0 half marathons this year were run with paces that were may be slower than my marathon.
For the 3rd half, I wanted to finish under 2:27 and if I didn’t, I might consider running another in May. I have run this race twice already but it is on its third different course.
now an out and back on the bike path in MA.
Phew. No pressure now!!
Happy Running! Anything to runfess this month? Please share.
It’s Friday so I’m also linking up with bloggers, Me (My First 5K and More), Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and The Running Teacher!

I hear you on the mentoring. When I was running with Sandra, I did my own run before or after running with her. It get’s quite time-consuming, but it’s also very rewarding.

It is rewarding. Especially if a runner is new.

I think 100 is the obvious goal here! Why not? Think of the AG awards you’ll rack up the next couple times you age up! Seriously- there’s no reason to quit now (unless you’re not enjoying it- but it seems like you are).
On behalf of runners everywhere- thank you for mentoring. Yes, it takes time from your own running but it’s such a good thing. I’m sure you’re an inspiration!

As long as my legs allow it. I don’t take anything for granted.

I love that you are mentoring but I get it when you say your own training suffers. Yes I think you have to go for 100!

I am happy to read that you are still enjoying your running and racing. That’s really all that matters. I loved coaching when I did it. It’s so rewarding knowing you are helping others find their passion

Exactly. when it’s no longer fun, it’s time to quit.

At 67 marathons people ask me if I’m going for 100 and I say as long as I can and am still enjoying them, I’ll go for 100. And I’d say the same for your halves!
I just ran with a friend at his heart rate threshold pace which was slower than I normally go. I didn’t have any goals for today so I was OK supporting his goal!

Good for you… an ambitious goal but I bet you get there or at least have fun trying.

Yes, I think the 100 goal should be on your radar 🙂 I mean, why not?

True. Why not?
Definitely not running any more full marathons.

It’s a great goal if I can stay healthy.

LOL about being hacked.
You’re doing great! I’m glad you hit that goal! It’s a nice boost after some races that you seemed to not be so encouraged by.

LOL at your friends worrying you were hacked. You have a reputation to live up to and I think a new goal of 100 Halfs!
Honestly, what you’ve done already is impressive.
