It’s that time of the month…
time to join up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.
To that mug, I would add “in a skirt.”
Hopefully that will happen soon…
1.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that my 2nd half marathon of 2024 is coming soon – April 13.
I am healthy so there are no excuses…
My goal is to feel better during the race (SMILE) and accept my finish time (even if it is not what I had hoped for.)
2. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that the weather and work interfered with my training for the above race. So “no excuses” has turned into:
Snow, ice, power outage and then long days in NYC (with rain during several). More rain, snow…
Looking ahead now to the Brooklyn Half Marathon in May… LOL.
3. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that only 4% of those (close to 165k) who entered the lottery for the NYC Marathon got accepted. Two of my friends were among the unlucky ones.
I am glad that I bit the bullet and will run it for 3rd (and last) time.
4.Over coffee…
I’d tell you that our 4 hotel rooms are already booked for the November NYC marathon.
I’ve decided for the first time to stay in the Wall Street area and take the Staten Island Ferry to the start rather than staying in Manhattan and taking the bus.
We’ll see if more sleep (and less waiting time) will help my performance. LOL
5. Over coffee…
I’d tell you that ice cream is the theme of my summer races.
I’ve registered for two:

I still cannot get over the percentage of those accepted for the NYC Marathon. I know it is a popular marathon, but wow.

The hardest to get into. I would feel guilty not running it.

I did not realize that only 4% of applicants were selected. Seems like everyone on IG Is running it doesn’t it? Wow exciting your next race is coming up already! Hope the weather calms downs a bit

170,000 applied. Hardest marathon to get into. But over 50k running it. Lots of fb and ig posts.
And yes I’m so ready for spring.

I’m so glad you decided to do the marathon! You guys will have a blast. I like how every time you mention it, you specify that this is the last time you’re doing it : )
Sounds like you’ve had some challenges training for the April 13 race- (but at least your ankle is better, right?). You’ll have a good time no matter what, and if you’re really not happy with the results, just look at it as a training run for the May race.
Hope you get some spring weather this weekend!

Spring is delayed here! Yup a training run for May is a good plan.

Good luck in your 2nd half of the year!
Staying by South St Seaport and going by ferry is a good choice and fun experience and it’s easy to get back on the subway, too – b/c there are many lines that go there!

Yup… extra sleep is always a good thing.

You’ve got some fun races coming up! I loved taking the Staten Island ferry over to start NYCM and I hope you do too! I felt like I did not spend too much time in runners village pre-race.

It’s amazing how many people entered the NYC lottery – I think it’s great that you decided to give it one more go!

4%??? That’s insane!
I hope I do get to try to run it one year. Right now is hard because it’s our anniversary AND the last weekend of band season, but when A graduates… maybe it would be a fun trip for us. We’ll see.
Love all that ice cream!
