Today’s topic is: Share your favorite running item(s) you’ve tried this year
I’m mostly same old, same old. I rarely try new things.
- I always eat GU while I run.
- I always eat oatmeal before any run or race.
- I always wear Skirt Sports skirts when I run.
- I always wear Topos running shoes.
- I always wear SpiBelt to carry my phone and to attach my bib for races.
So what’s new this year?
- Brooks tanks tops–
I usually run in Skirt Sports tanks (Eclipse is my favorite). However, these tops are loose and comfortable but mostly I love the sayings on them.
- Topos Cyclone 2 Shoes
Normally for longer runs and races, I wear Topos Phantoms. But these are lighter and looser in the toe box. Too bad they only come in ONE color.
- Skirt Sports Triumph skirt
My favorite is the Cascade but they have been discontinued so I usually run in Gym Girl Ultras. I tried this one and like the fit and grippers on the shorts. If they ever go on sale, I may buy another (IWO, I have enough skirts…)
And in non-running items for 2023?
- Starbucks Chocolate Cream Cold Brew –
I’m a Starbucks fan. I don’t buy their drinks frequently because they are expensive but when I do, it used to be Caramel Macchiato in the winter and Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso in the summer but recently I discovered this drink and there’s no going back! lol
- Samuel Smith’s Chocolate Stout –
I do enjoy a glass of red wine when I go out to dinner or in the evening at home. I don’t really like beer, at all. Who knew I would enjoy a glass of Stout…?
Originally I bought it at Trader Joe’s but they only sell it in the winter. Since then I’ve discovered several different brands.
Happy Running! What are your favorite running or non-running items this year? Please share.

There is a link-up organized by Zenaida and Kim (Kooky Runner).

Since today is Tuesday, I’m linking up with these ladies.
I’m also linking up here:
with co-hosts Coach Debbie Runs, Confessions of a Mother Runner, Mile by Mile, Runs with Pugs, and Laura Norris

Since my hubs gave me that brew and grind coffee maker, I’ve been trying lots of different coffee beans. Do I have a favorite? I’m still partial to Colectivo Co-Optiva, but really, I like them all. Including Starbucks.
Glad to see you have a beer or 2 that you like!

I still don’t have a new favourite running thing this year! But I’ve fallen back in love with a puffed maize snack I used to have as a kid called Ghost Pops!

Nothing wrong with an oldie but goodie.

I am so NOT a beer gal either, but I do like the hard ciders that are plentiful these days. I do, on occasion try a craft beer (if a friend offers me a sip), but UGH. They all taste like regular beer to me, LOL

I like some hard ciders too – the fruity ones,

I am also an oatmeal before races runner. I’ve been very happy with my Nespresso coffee and like to mix up the variety. I’ve come to really dislike the taste of Starbucks and avoid it unless necessary

Some people really don’t like Starbucks.
I’ve never tried Nespresso.

The tanks you wear are cute and have such fun sayings on them.
I’ve never been a beer drinker, even in college. I’ve recently discovered hard ciders and like some of them. I’m more of a cocktail drinker. 😉

That’s me as well, I prefer drinks like Mojitos and Bloody Marys and never drank beer in college. Recently I’ve tried some fruity hard ciders that are ok. This chocolate beer doesn’t taste like beer… i think it’s the chocolate lol.

I also love Skirt Sports. I find they’re perfect for so many activities from running to hiking and so many things when I travel. I love stout beers. I’ll have to keep an eye out for those at Trader Joe’s.

The chocolate stout is only available in the winter but check it out and let me know what you think.
I agree, skirts are great for so many activities.

I also run in Skirt Sports. I do like the Triumph. GGU has always been my go-to but this past week I’ve been revisiting my Lioness skirts. I don’t wear them very often because they always feel a little short. But they’re cute!

I have one lioness but yes it’s short.

Mmmmmm, I love beer. I usually drink IPAs but I used to love stouts, so I get it.
I like how you describe the Brooks tank tops as LOOSE and comfortable. I can’t stand to have a tight tank top on my skin in the heat of summer! I don’t have any Brooks but maybe I’ll check them out.
That Starbucks drink sounds insanely good.

Too good. Because Starbucks is expensive.

I love those tanks too! I was able to wear them for a good portion of my pregnancy because they are nice and loose. I also love red wine, but I will drink beer occasionally as well. Unfortunately TJs doesn’t sell alcohol here because you can’t buy liquor in grocery stores.

Red wine is my preference too.
Too bad about TJs.

I also love Brooks tank tops because they always have such fun graphics or phrases.

Yes they do. And for all seasons.

Brooks makes nice tops! I do not like the fit of the new style because they are more tight and fitted. Yum on that Starbucks drink. I rarely get a drink from there too but now I must try that one.

I don’t buy them often but this one is worth it.
