Since today is the first Saturday in November, I am joining up with Coco & Deborah for their ultimate coffee date.
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that after the girls weekend Wineglass Half Marathon, our group has been continuing plan weekend runs together. Best thing ever. I hate running alone so now I don’t have to. We even go out to breakfast after.
I’d tell you that because I now have running partners on the weekend, I have not felt compelled to sign up for a race every weekend. Though, I still have FOMO when I see those race pics on FB and IG.
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I have a half marathon in ONE week! I don’t ever have a training plan for my big races but I am pretty anal about running 10, 11, and 12 milers.
Except that I skipped my 11 and shortened my 12 to 10. Who am I?

10 (not 12) with Alyssa
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that I am trying to plan my spring races … at least the half marathons.

Singer Island Half on March 17, 2018 – anyone want to join me?
There’s a new local race… Except that it’s where I run often so not too tempting but cheaper than a race-cation.

May 19, 2018
And then there’s the lottery for this BIG one:

Brooklyn Half on May 19, 2018 – Anyone else running this one?
So many races…so little time….
Over coffee…
I’d tell you that for the past two years, I was in NYC running the Dash to the Finish.
Damn work!! I was away until late last night so there was no way I could swing it.
Over Coffee…
I’d tell you that speaking of New York City, I ran along the Hudson River last week.
And yes, this trail goes to where that terrorist mowed down innocent bikers.
Scary!!
Over coffee…
I’d tell that I’m a little nervous about training for a March race.
Now that I travel for work, my running routes (except NYC) do not have lights.
I am not a hotel treadmill kind of gal.
Happy Running! Got anything to spill? Share it here!
For a first time half runner, going to 12 can be confidence boosting. For someone that is always running (and always running halfs), I don’t think it’s as important at all.
I think I’d find it impossible to train for a spring half unless I ran on a treadmill (or there was zero snow). Even not working.
And very scary about the bike path in NYC. You had someone watching over you, for sure.

That’s why I run at Ualbany. Not possible this winter with the travel. We know out west they get more snow that we do.

I will be in Florida that weekend–but isn’t Singer Island on the Atlantic side? I need to find a race for then.

Yes it is. I have more friends in that side. I have already run two Sarasota halfs.

I am not a treadmill gal, either (but you already know that). I have never once used a hotel treadmill…if I can’t run outside (safely), I skip the run and do my own thing (lunges, squats, push-ups, planks, etc.

I’ll figure something out.

The Brooklyn half is definitely on my list for one of these years. I have not done a race in NYC yet. I get serious FOMO too but like you say, having a group of friends to run w on the weekends is the best. Thanks for joining us for coffee!

You definitely have to come to NYC to run someday.

I thought about you when I heard about that crazy person mowing down bikers (and the news report said runners as well) – glad you weren’t in the area at the time of such a horrific event.
It warms my heart to see that you’ve found some people to run with AND go to breakfast with afterward! It’s the best. 🙂

Yes. I think of you and the Renegades. Now I don’t have to move to TX lol

I hated the treadmill but I have finally embraced the fact that it is my new method of running in the winter. After a terrible fall in 2016 due to ice and snow there is no more outside winter running in this girl.

I had a terrible fall in 2012. I do run outside but not where this is ice. Hope we have a mild winter.

Hmmm. Maybe invest in a good headlamp? Or I’ve heard good things about knucklights. have you tried them? I’m sure you’ll find the perfect spring races to fill your calendar. 🙂

You read my mind. I was thinking the same.

Aww, yay for running partners! I used to run with a friend but we ended up moving to different timezones for various forms of higher education and I went back to lifting. I think I’d still probably run if we lived close to each other again!
Best of luckt you on your marathon!

Half. And thanks. It’s definitely easier to get up earlier to run if someone is waiting.

It’s great to have running buddies. I wish I had a crew that I could run with every week, it has to be motivating!
Good luck on your half marathon – so many races! It’s always so hard because you feel like you’re missing out on something!
If you do any running at night I would definitely recommend Knuckle Lights they are super bright!
