Since it is Thursday, I’m linking up today with Amanda for Thinking Out Loud Thursday.
Here’s what I’m thinking about today:
Last week, my half marathon training was derailed by illness.
This has been my running so far this week:
Monday: NO PLACE TO RUN
Tuesday: NO TIME TO RUN
I was scheduled to play tennis after work. (It turns out that one of the four players didn’t show so we hit a little and then sat around eating popcorn.)
Wednesday: NO ENERGY TO RUN
The side effects of this flu has been EXTREME FATIGUE. Yup, it’s a thing. You can suffer for this for weeks when your immune system fights off the flu. Even getting 10 hours of sleep doesn’t help.
So today, I’ve cancelled my run.
We’ll see what tomorrow and this weekend brings.
I have no goals or aspirations for this half marathon….just finish!!
I do want to have enough energy to have fun with my Florida friends, though.
My brain is too foggy to think anymore.
Happy Running! What are you thinking about today? Any experience dealing with fatigue?
Oh that sucks. I’m sorry you’re still feeling bad. Hang in there… you’ll be back soon!

I hope that you feel better soon. That post viral exhaustion is a nuisance. Rest up, eat lots of fruit and veggies and hopefully it will go soon. Some of my friends swear by echinacea but I haven’t tried it myself. Take care! Jxx

I’m struggling with fatigue too, from my RA. Not daily, thankfully. But yesterday I was wiped.
Hope you feel better!

Hopefully all of this rest will get you back to feeling 100% very soon – it sucks to not feel good.

Sorry you are not feeling great. Be sure to rest and feel much better before running along distance or it might wipe you out even further…..

I haven’t even been sick yet (throat has been just mildly scratchy) but I’m really tired from all the running around I’ve been doing. No end in sight. Hoping I can get enough rest to stay healthy!

You were sick back in December and last summer. So I guess I’m due. Still doesn’t make me happy (even if it’s rare.)

Never like being sick. I’ve had years go by without getting sick — these last few years it’s been a bit more, but the last few years have also been very stressful.
