1.Eat spicy food the night before a race.
I don’t recommend trying this…
2. Wear something new on race day.
You shouldn’t but I have.
3. Go out too fast in a race.
Who hasn’t?
4.Wear the race shirt on race day.
I have never but I do see many runners who do this.
5. Over training.
This could result in tired legs on race day.
6. Ignoring an injury.
Running when you should be resting or seeing a medical professional.
Happy Running! Do you have anything to add? Have you violated any of these rules? Please share.

You pretty much nailed all of my top ones (and to add to spicy – not too much fiber, too!) and trying new fuels or food on race day.

Oh, I’ve violated one or two of these! One thing I’ve never done is wear the shirt on race day- mainly because I never really wear race t shirts anyway (i’m always in a tank top.)
I was thinking about you on my run today- I hope you’re feeling better!

I have had spicy food the night before a race. That doesn’t bother my stomach. A big salad and lots of veggies? That’s the end for me!
