Today’s Topic is: Five Things You Want to Accomplish This Year
1.Recover From My Current Injury
IOW, be able to run well enough to race….
Patience is not my virtue… so we’ll see how things go.
2. Work Out in the Gym Several Times A Week
I don’t enjoy it but I know it’s good for me.
3. Not Get Injured Again
Injuries suck.. both mentally and physically.
Do I need to bubble wrap myself?
4. Run a Sub 27:00 Brooklyn Half Marathon
Pride?
Yes, but more importantly, it allows me the flexibility to run the NYC and Brooklyn Half Marathons in 2025 as well as the NYC full marathon (if I so choose.)
5. Complete My 3rd NYC Marathon
and actually enjoy it.
Happy Running! What are 5 things that you want to accomplish this year? Please share.

Your first few goals are similar to mine, but I have held back from signing up for any races. I need to recover on my time and not have pressure from a race calendar (my injury is different from yours!)

well I signed up for those races BEFORE I got injured.
I hope we both get healthy soon and can accomplish our goals for the year.

still painful and a little swollen but I can walk on it… hesitate to run… not sure when I can???

Better to be safe and just wait until no pain in it before you even attempt running. This will pass but the wait can be difficult for us runners!!

sure is hard… less hard in the winter, though.

Injuries do suck. I hope you get through this one just as successfully as the others so you can head to the Marathon and kick it’s butt!

I think all of these are achievable and attainable Darlene. Just got to get you free from injury and stay that way!

I’m with you on recovering from an injury and staying injury-free! As tempting as it is I have stayed away from registering for any races. Wishing you quick healing!

You’re smart. My injury or accident came as a surprise and I had already signed up.
