Last Week:
- Monday – I took my daily 15 min walk with a co-worker. (I can now say that since we have walked everyday for ONE week).

on the track
After work, I went for a run on the rail trail. I was so excited that it was light enough to do so…getting sick of my work neighborhood.

must have been running fast – that’s why it is blurry LOL
- Tuesday – Just a work day followed by tennis in the evening (followed by dinner out)
- Wednesday – Another normal work day. 80 degree temps meant 2 walks and a run in a skirt!!

new pre-run drink – Chocolate Banana Smoothie with protein powder & coconut milk – from Starbucks, where else?
- Thursday – Rainy rainy day. I could have run on the treadmill but decided against it. Instead, I got some steps and retail therapy in at the mall. (bought 2 caps & a tank in Burlington Coat Factory.)
- Friday – My first before work run in forever. Last one before Sunday’s half. It was a little chilly and windy but it is the best way to start the day. Why don’t I do it more often?
My normal walks at work and then an evening of mah jongg.
- Saturday – My rest day!! Errands, housework, cooking… the usual stuff.
- Sunday – Celebrate Life Half Marathon. Hilliest race ever.

I walked up ALL the hills so my time wasn’t great but I did it for the cause and the weather was pefect.
23 miles done with 4 runs and 3 rest days.
This Week: (6 weeks until Half Marathon #19)
- Monday – 3 mile run
- Tuesday – rest, tennis
- Wednesday – 3 mile run, yoga?
- Thursday -rest
- Friday – 3 mile run, mah jongg
- Saturday – rest, proctor MPREs at work
- Sunday – 5 mile race + 4 miles after
Once again, I am linking up for the Weekly Wrap hosted by Holly @ HoHoRuns and Tricia @ MissSippiPiddlin. See rules here.
Happy Running! How is your running going? Any races?
It’s just hard to motivate yourself out the door sometimes! Oftentimes. Unless the weather’s beautiful, then it’s a lot easier, but beautiful is pretty fleeting around here.

I agree. Especially today when it is rainy and nasty. I see the treadmill i my future UGH. At least the weather cooperated yesterday. That was more important. And I am feeling great today …nothing is even sore. 🙂

Not even the blisters? Nothing is sore here either.
I got Lola out for a walk before the rain started.

Actually my feet were better than usual. Probably all that walking.

Of course I also didn’t do the full half. A slight flair in my tendinitis in my elbow, oddly enough, but I was really pumping my arms!

It’s great that you have someone to walk with at work. Having a buddy makes everything easier when you are exercising. Our weather is finally turning nice, but this week we have alot of rain in the forecast. Guess that means I can clean the house.

this week is supposed to colder and rainy here too. Not very motivating. I see treadmilling in my future.

how much better is it to run outside now that the weather is improving in upstate NY?! i had two (hilly) runs up by my parents this weekend and although my legs were tired, i was just happy for the lovely days. good job sticking through such a hilly race, and that protein shake from Starbucks sounds YUM.

We’ll have to connect sometime when you are upstate. Glad you are keeping up with your runs. I’ll have to motivate you to race more.

Sounds like a great week! I’m glad you had good weather for the race at least. I hope that made the hills a bit easier 🙂

The hills were tough but would have been worse like last year in the ice and snow.

sounds like a great week! I love my morning runs before work- after work for me is to difficult! I probably would have walked all those hills too 🙂

But now with the time change, it is dark in the morning. This week is cold and rainy too. Hopefully spring will return soon.

I ran a hilly half in Wisconsin about 5 years ago for my first ever half. What was I thinking?

That’s how I felt during the entire race.

My first half was 5 years ago too. However, you have progressed on to marathons.

You certainly stay active all week!! And about walking those hills….I have learned that I can actually walk some hills much faster than run them, and depending on how steep they are, walking is a lot less “jarring” on the body 😉

I agree. I might not be walking today if I had run up those hills.

Nice mileage this past week!
Hills, sometimes it better to just walk them and save the aches. It is nice you ran for your friend and even better in perfect weather.

Yes, the weather and my friends were the best part.

I tried the Butterscotch last week. YUMMY. I’m always impressed you run after work. I’m “toast” by then, mentally and physically. I hear you on the hilly half. Blech. I’m amazed I keep going back again and again. You’ll soon be at 20 halves. You ARE as obsessed as me. LOL. Thanks for linking with us Darlene. We appreciate your weekly support.

This was the first time that I’ve done this race. I knew that it was hilly but not as hilly as it was. I’m not good wiht getting up early and running i the dark. I wil be better in the summer when it is too hot to run after work.
