I meant to write this on Valentine’s Day but for the last 7 weeks I have been kinda depressed. I can’t run and I don’t know if I will again. But I did run and I do ❤ running so here’s my list (in no particular order):
- the new friends I have made
- guilt-free carb-loading (before & after a run or race)
- the best way to end a bad day (or start off a tough day)
- an excuse to shop – buy new running clothes, shoes, gear, etc.
- setting your own goals (run your “own” race)
- how you feel when crossing the finish line in a race
- feeling healthy & active & alive
- sense of pride & accomplishment (I’m 58 and running half marathons!!)
- being alone and getting lost in one’s own thoughts
- the bling 🙂
Happy Running! Anything to add about why you love running?

I love number 1. YOu will run again and next year you’ll be here at Hampton with me. I also love the rest of them esp. number 6.

i love that feeling, a few miles in, when suddenly i don’t just love running but i love the entire world. it’s like i’m one of the singing idiots in those old coke commercials. “i’d like to teach the world to sing…” yeah. it’s that corny. love that.
i’m hoping i love racing as much as a solitary run, but if not- i’m pretty good at being alone with a crowd anyway.

I love all the smells, sounds, and sights while running. Just the other day I was crossing over a bridge and from my limited side vision, I could see the sun sparkling off the water, but when I turned to look at it straight on I couldn’t see the bling anymore due to my central vision loss. But it is times like that, when I love what sight I do have left, because it gives me a different prospective on the world we live in!
