Today’s Topic is: Five Fitness Goals for 2024
1.Run 1000 Miles for the Year.
It’s not the number that is important but it means that I’ve run consistently and haven’t been injured or sick.
2. Continue gym workouts (or find another outlet).
I started going last March (for free) and then officially joined in July.
Being honest, I don’t enjoy working out but everyone seems to think it is important.
So I will give another shot this year.
3. Vary my runs. Do some “drills.”
I’m a creature of habit or I am almost always pressed for time.
I just run. No watch. No speedwork. No hill repeats.
As I age, this could possibly give me some speed back.

4. Complete the NYC Marathon for the 3rd time.
Third time is a charm?
No.
But 4 of my local friends are running it and
I need redemption, they say.
Hopefully I can end my marathon racing on a good note.
5.Continue on toward my half marathon goal (75 before 75).
The Finger Lakes Half Marathon in September was my 65th half marathon.
Too bad I DNSed 3 last winter. And ran 0 in 2012.
At one point I was hoping to run 100 Half Marathons…
Here’s to good health (or feet/legs) and hoping…

75 before 75 is amazing!
And I had no idea you had so many half marathons under your belt! Incredible.
The gym IS important, but I’m with you. I don’t get it and I don’t love it.

I’m happy that someone else is not loving the gym.
Who knows if I will ever hit 75. I may switch to shorter races.

Great ideas for goals! I didn’t know you have the goal of 75 by 75. All the best in reaching your goals next year. Happy holidays!

It was a goal. But who knows? I’m ok if it doesn’t happen.
Happy holidays to you and your daughter.

I need to work on my consistency with #2 — I’ve kinda been all over the place this year. That’s amazing that you’ve already done 65 half marathons!!

I used to do many each year but that doesn’t always happen.
Consistency is the hardest goal.

Those are awesome goals and I know you will achieve them. I don’t think I knew about the 75 half marathons before 75. Nice!

At one time it was 100.
Now I’m not sure I will achieve them. I’ll give it my best shot.
