Last Week:
- Monday – Still in Florida. Went for a nice long walk around Sarasota in the morning with my Sarasota hosts.
Then spent the afternoon with my friend from Placida where we walked around the gardens of the Ringling Museum and had an early dinner on the water.
- Tuesday – Got up early to take my last run in Placida. Still cool and windy but not complaining because I would soon be in the frigid NE.

Actually only had time for 3 miles
Met some friends from home for lunch before heading to the airport.
- Wednesday – Just a restful work day with a work webinar in the evening & unpacking.

Did not enjoy this view!!
- Thursday – Intended to run 4-5 miles but would have frozen to death. Afterward walked the mall with my BFF.

yes, -6 with the wind chill – ouch!
- Friday – A 3 mile run in the cold followed by an evening with the mah jongg ladies.
- Saturday – Too cold to run so instead went a lunch/coloring party with my tennis friends.
- Sunday – Again I bailed on my long run. Too cold. Too windy. -30 with the wind chill – I think NOT. I did go out for a nice Valentine’s Day dinner with the hubby.
9 miles done with 3 runs and 4 rest days. I guess I can call this recovery week (or too cold to run week)!! I am hoping it warms up next week.
This Week: (5 weeks until Half Marathon #18 )
- Monday – holiday so a day off from work, 10 mile run, tennis.
- Tuesday – rest day, tennis
- Wednesday – 3 mile run, dinner out with the tennis ladies
- Thursday – 4 mile run
- Friday – rest, mah jongg
- Saturday –11 mile run
- Sunday – rest
Starting today, I am participating in the 2 Week Hop. I will be spotlighted on Wednesday so be sure to stop by then. If you’ve never participated and are interested in not only growing your blog but making new friends, I highly recommend that you join the next time.
Happy Running! How is your running going? Any races? How are you coping with winter weather?
Sunday actually didn’t seem that bad to me, but granted, I just walked maybe 20 feet from the car to the salon. 🙂
It was cold, of course, but it wasn’t windy like Saturday. It was probably just as cold when I started Friday, but it did warm up more by the time I finished (about 9 when I started, 20 when I finished).
Enjoy your run today! I’m not quite done with my pampering yet . . .

I thought about it but it was in the single digits and below zero with the wind chill. It’s supposed to warm up to 20 today but we’ll see if I can wait that long. I see 40s for Saturday! 🙂

Except sat has a good chance of being rainy right now (weird weather!). Again, we’ll have to wait & watch!

Better get out there before it snows this afternoon then. 🙂
You never know, by the time the weekend actually get here it could flip flop and Sunday’ll be rainy. Or no rain at all!

In Florida, 40 degrees seemed cold. Here I am happy if it is above 10.

I guess I just hate the treadmill more than you and I don’t own one so I would have to go out anyway.

It’s been pretty brutal here too. Don’t ask me what kind of crazy made me run outside yesterday!

I know. I just couldn’t do it. I did today because t here was less wind. But there was no sun.

Yup I am sure you miss those windy Florida runs. Cold weather sucks!! I ran in ‘feels like 2’ yesterday..so freaking cold!! I need to get some better gloves/mittens for sure. I have been slacking on my running…not sure why but hoping to get back it fully soon.
Color party…that sounds fun.

Yes. I can’t believe that I was complaining about 50 degrees. That seems rather nice now. Me too. My hands are what are the coldest.

It’s good to take a recovery week. Think of the cold weather as perfect timing for you! Or at least a good excuse to take some time off. I loved to color as a kid. I think I might need some adult coloring books. I’m in the hop again but my spotlight isn’t until next week. Thanks for linking with us Darlene.

Awwww, it stinks to leave FL and come home to that bitter cold.
Glad you had a nice Valentines Day!

There is nothing wrong (and many things right) with taking a recovery week! Especially when the weather is less than ideal 😉 That is so neat you had a coloring party with your friends…..The coloring is definitely a hot trend right now (and a relaxing one at that!).

I gave my step-daughter an adult coloring book for a Valentines Day treat. I think this party would be so much fun! I saw your drawing up close and it’s very colorful, I like the markers too! What kind of martini is this? Could it be chocolate? I had a chocolate on for dinner on V-day too! 🙂
