Sunday is not Sun Day

I’ve lost track of how many times we’ve seen this show but Saturday night my hubby & I enjoyed it as much as the first time.

My running schedule called for a long run on today but the weather forecast was 90% chance of heavy rain.

So although I went to bed late, had several glasses of wine while playing Mah Jongg Friday evening, I decided I’d better do my 9 mile run on Saturday.

I’m not going to beat myself up too badly but it was probably my worst run ever!! It was windy, humid and threatening rain.  I felt like quitting after 2 miles.  Nothing hurt.  I just couldn’t get going.  I walked A LOT!  I willed myself to finish the 9 miles and actually my last mile was the fastest.

I’m glad I did it.  It is cloudy and drizzling now.  Plans for this rainy day include:  laundry, cleaning, nails, grocery shopping  and helping a friend set up her new computer.

Happy Running!

  1. Congrats on getting it done. We ran 10 this morning and it was not a whole lot of fun. Rain rain and more rain. Had to go to the bathroom. Nowhere to stop. More rain. Tired. Still had to go to the bathroom. Raining harder. Tired. Finally home.
Now I have a list of things to get to.

  2. I’m glad you got your run in yesterday. It is really raining here right now (Sunday afternoon). I did the same as you, I ran long yesterday to avoid the rain.

  3. That’s dedication: keep going even though you wanted to quit. Great job Darlene!

I’ve never seen Riverdance but I did see Lord of the Dance . My best friend loves that and I’ve bought her tickets for her birthday a few years ago. It was a great show.
