FFF: Ultimate Coffee Date for July ’21

It’s that time of the month…

time to join up with Coco & Deborah
for their ultimate coffee date.

I am very excited to go boating again on Lake George. If only the weather would be consistently warm on the weekends.

1. Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I start working in the office next week. BOO!!

I need to wear nice clothes, jewelry and make up, pack a lunch and bring the appropriate clothes (and snack) to run after work.

2.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I have NO races on my schedule this summer.

Very strange. I even ran several races during the Pandemic and many many virtual ones.

Since we now CAN race, I have no desire to do a virtual one.

(Late update: I lied. On a whim, I recently registered for a race this coming weekend.)

3.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I have been a Skirt Sports ambassador since the beginning. Last year they merged with ZOOMA. Now they have added Momentum jewelry. So now I represent all three brands.

4.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that I’ve been consistently running 10 miles each weekend until I have not…

I started to slack off in May when I was in Florida.  Once you stop, it’s so easy not to continue. So in June, I haven’t as well.

only 4 miles!!

Until my friends and I have a half marathon to train for, I just may run less….

5.Over coffee…

I’d tell you that although I will going back to the office for work next week, I do not know when I will be travelling again. I miss running in different locations. I miss my hotel points!!!

I think this was my last NYC run, I mean work trip (Jan 2020)

Happy Running! What’s new with you?  Please share.

  1. It’s funny you mention the back to the office thing…just recently I heard (on the radio) that the sales of a lot of personal hygiene items has increased LOL Makes you wonder what these consumers were doing the past 15 months. My racing calendar is looking kind of bleak as well. We have a race on Monday, and possibly one the following weekend, but not anything else until the end of August.

    • Well I know that I barely get dressed these days and wear my running clothes most days. No makeup or jewelry.

I have a race on Sunday and maybe one or two others but not much scheduled until fall.

  2. Good luck going back to the office! Will you be back 5 days a week? For now we are just 2 days week until the end of August. Its still tough to wear real clothes every day.

  3. Good luck with the return to office. I always work from home, but I’ve been trying to dress nicer to meet friends or to go out to dinner. Everyone seems very surprised. LOL.

I have a 4 mile race this weekend but then not much until Chicago Marathon. I’m scared of the long distances in the heat but I’ll do my best!

  4. I know that NYC runner! Glad you’ll be here in August
Good luck with the office return. I’m very curious whether I’ll keep up my cooking habit when I do. I hope so. I’ve worn work clothes a few times for events.
Was laughing at your no races since you said somewhere or on text that you had one. Liar liar pants on fire :p

    • I know….couldn’t resist the discount. Ha Ha. I told my hubby to forget about a clean house and home cooking.

Can’t wait to see you in August. Either Friday am coffee and/or Monday evening run/chat.

  5. Boo to going back to the office 🙂 Will you be in 5 days a week or will they still allow you to work from home a few days? I was never one to wear makeup a lot but I can honestly say I haven’t put on any type of makeup in over a year, lol.

    • I’ll be in the office 3 days a week but full-time starting Sept. Still not normal since I will still be doing everything online instead of face to face.

  6. It will be strange going back to the office – having to get dressed up, make up, pack lunch etc. etc.! But it’s a good sign things are returning to normal! I’m still at the home office – I only go in when we have in-person meetings. I love seeing people when I’m there but I love the comfort (and flexibility) of my home office!

    • I love the comfort of my home and the extra time to get things done. I am looking forward to normal work and not just being online.

  7. I have been in the office the whole time and I truly think that has been a good thing! I like seeing my coworkers and the interactions with my patients have been for the most part, very pleasant. Good luck settling back in!!

    • I am looking forward to seeing the people I teach face to face but going back to the office now is just a nuisance since we are still training online.

  8. Wow, that will be a real adjustment! I had to laugh at your reply to Lisa’s comment that you hope your real clothes still fit. Yes, that could be a shocker! Glad to hear it’s just three day a week for now.
I noticed you weren’t doing your 10 milers! I figured it was a summer phase. It’s hard to get out there for that long in the heat if you’re not training for anything specific.
    Good luck next week!

    • I started running more with friends and none are running that long. I should get out before they arrive but just haven’t been motivated. Especially when I am not training for anything.

I’ve only worn spandex so we will see. Lol.

    • You’re kidding, right? I LOVE working from home…so much more time to do things…and I’ll still be online. It will be a royal pain.

As far as not running 10..it’s only because I’m wanting to go to eat brunch with everyone. Has nothing to do with fitness. I felt better when I was doing 10.

  9. I thought you would be happy to go back to your office again. It seemed like you enjoyed the traveling. My husband is ready to go back to his office for sure. Just between you and me-I kind of feel like I am ready for everyone go 🙂 I agree that once you get out of the habit of running long, it is hard to get it back!

  10. Between summer weather and no long races on the horizon, this is the perfect time to cut back on your long runs. Then your legs will be fresher when you decide to ramp up in the fall. Sorry about the office. I’m supposed to start back in August, but will go in a few days in July too. The lake looks lovely!

  11. All the best with your return to the office. Bummer they’re not letting you ease in with a few times a week to start. That is crazy you had nothing on your summer race calendar. Glad you rectified that!

  12. Offices are starting to bring everyone back around here, too. Mr PugRunner has his own office space so he’s been back for a while. Travel is his next milestone. He does a lot of conferences, but he doesn’t want to invest if people aren’t fully back yet.

  13. Good luck with your return to the office. I occasionally put on make-up and a nice top for special Zoom calls, but I cannot remember the last time I “dressed for work” – I think it would be a shock to the system LOL

I’m so surprised that you don’t have any races on the calendar! 😉

  14. Ahh, Lake George! I’ve been there once but would love to go back!

I’m really hoping I get to keep doing just 1 day a week of virtual — it’s been nice getting to skip out on driving for a day + wear super comfy PJ bottoms (only the top half needs to look presentable, right? 😛 ).
