Since it’s Tuesday, I’m joining the link-up organized by Zenaida and Kim (Kooky Runner)
The Topic for today is: Goals for 2021
Hard to say definitely when everything with the virus is up in the air.
But I’ll give it a shot.
- Run at least 3 miles twice during the week.
- Go for a walk or hike on non-running days.
- Run long on the weekend (10 miles if able).
- Continue to connect safely with friends on runs, walks and hikes.
- Go to my gym (when it opens) once a week.
- Sign up for in-person races (once they are scheduled).
- Do some speed work (on a track) to prepare for shorter races (once I sign up for some.)
- Add some strength training somewhere somehow (LOL)
- Go on a race-cation in February (if race is still scheduled).
- Plan a race-cation for the Fall.
- Once I start traveling again for work, run in NYC (for the sunsets and friend connections).
- Continue to blog at least once or twice a week.
- Run 1000 miles for the year.
- Complete more challenging hikes.
- Stay healthy!!!!!
I’m also linking up here:

Happy Running! Any goals for 2021? Please share.
I’m glad your running goals 2021 include blogging!
I think we’re all in the same boat with live races next year – I have signed up for races in January and March but who knows?
I hope your Florida race will happen in February! That would be awesome.

It would be. Don’t have my hopes up. I do have another in April that will happen. It’s local. And yes blogging keeps me honest and in track.

That’s a whole lotta goals! Good luck with that.

None are ambitious like last year. We won’t see normalcy until 2022. I think they’re realistic. But we’ll see. They’re only goals.

I absolutely love all of your goals, especially the ones about racecations, long runs on the weekends and socially distanced runs with friends. Hopefully more live races will open up in the summer/fall once a majority of people have received the vaccine.

I really hope so.

I want to get back to the 10-mile distance for my Saturday long runs, but I’m not in any big hurry (maybe in Feb/Mar?). I do plan to work in more biking miles in 2021, and get those going in the spring (instead of waiting for summer). And races…I’d love to get those back in my life 😉

Wouldn’t we all?
I need to bike mote too. I forgot about that.

Do weights when you get to go back to the gym!

I should, right?

Yay for continuing to blog! I often forget about that as a “goal” but its definitely one to keep in mind as it could so easily slip away! But we all kept things going this year when there wasn’t quite as much to write about 🙂
Awesome goals!

I like the variety of your goals! And they seem pretty flexible, which is so key right now. It’s tough to plan for all the unknowns next year but I like having some things to try to work towards. Good luck!

Thanks. They seem pretty realistic. We’ll see.

Pretty reasonable goals for 2021. Sure hope we are all back at in person races sometime soon!

They seem reasonable…hopefully there will be more racing than in 2020.

One thing is for sure, I’ll be running a lot in 2021. Right there with you that strength training needs to be a regular part of my life again. To my credit, I’ve at least started, now I just need to stick with it.

Yeah, I pretty much ignore ST but if gyms would open, I’d be more likely to add some.
I will probably be running the same amount or even less in 2021 but I hope that there are more races on my schedule.

It is really hard to plan for next year! The first race I had (in February) was already postponed. I do have my 40th marathon planned for June, so I hope it goes off as planned. It was already postponed from this year so it would be good to get it done.

I hope you do get to run that race in June. So far the Feb race is on but still don’t know if I will go.

I plan to write out my goals for next year in next week’s post. Things are still so fluid and uncertain, it’s hard to pick a clear path.
Goals are always a good idea, though, and I like having them in my pocket.

I’m not usually someone who has goals. But after last year, I thought it couldn’t hurt to have a path.

I love your goals! Count me in for a race-cation. Oh and yes to strength training for me too.
Thank you for linking up with us!
