2020 was not a big year for “real” races so obviously my collection of bling was not large as in a normal year. Still, I did collect a few medals & swag.

Which ones were my favorite(s)?
The medals from the in-person races. Those are actually the ones where I feel that I “earned” the bling.
The others were just from runs. Those medals don’t have much meaning for me (though some are very nice.) But I did appreciate all of the swag that I received from many of the virtual events (esp. the gaiters).

Oh wow, you had six in-person races this year, Darlene! Cool.
I only had four, and they were all packed in the first three months this year.
Congrats on the AG wins! Were the Malta 5K and 10K races virtual, too?

They were virtual. I may have been the only in my AG. Ha ha.
Yes glad to have run some real ones. Although the last two were pandemic ones.

The only ones that count are the real races. I won’t even hang them lol
But I do like all the shirts and gaiters from the virtuals. At least they are useful

That’s great! I have absolutely nothing. The one “race” I ran was virtual and I think I did get a string bag from that, but I’m not going to use it. Let’s all hope next year is much better in many ways!

Not a good year to be collecting bling. I was lucky to get in a few before March. Who knew?
Not sure about 2021…but definitely 2022.

You still scored some nice swag!! My bling pic on my blog looks a lot more impressive than the year felt…but every medal came with a fun memory or a great lesson learned. And we all persevered and have (almost) made it to 2021!!!

Yes. Mine does too.
But I only really feel that I earned the in-person medals.
Hopefully 2021 will have some more in person-events and 2022 some REAL races.

Lots of bling for a year with very few live races! I tried so hard not to collect bling from virtual races except for the half marathons I ran. I wouldn’t have minded a medal from that 19 miler as well!

You got alot of bling this year, especially considering that so many races were cancelled/went virtual! I think I only got 2 medals this year (all my races were virtual).

You did manage a few in person races this year! My last one was February. I also love the wine glass that we both got. Thanks for clueing me into that virtual. It was a year!

Wow, you managed to get in a lot of real life runs this year! I only managed one and didn’t get into the virtual thing until later in the year. I agree, I don’t consider them “racing,” and I’m always amazed when people actually set PRs when they do them. For me, a virtual half marathon is just a long run. Still hard though so I’ll take that bling!

Certainly not a lot of medals for me! I didn’t really partake of too many virtual races, and I’m only just now going back to regular racing. There will be more medals next year.

Yes some are fun. But I only really treasure the in person races. At least I have a few of those.
