It’s that time again. Time to get things off my chest with Marcia’s Runfessions at Marcia’s Healthy Slice…
And it’s Friday so here’s FIVE runfessions:
1. I runfess…
I impulsively applied for several ambassadorships.
I didn’t get accepted to this one 😦
But I did get selected for this one:
The problem is that I’m not sure if I can run any of their races!!
- June 3 – ZOOMA Annapolis – nope – but can do the virtual 10K
- October 6 – ZOOMA Cape Cod – a week after Wineglass but maybe since I can drive there and if I get a roommate.
- October 22 – ZOOMA Amelia Island – nope – too expensive for flight & hotel
- March 10 – ZOOMA Austin – doubtful, too far, too hilly, too expensive

2. I runfess…
Speaking of impulsiveness… remember how I wanted one more late fall half marathon and another reunion with the #holottafun ladies?
Well, I registered for a big race!
Nov 11-12, 2017
This is my first BIG half marathon and I am pretty excited.
I also registered for the 5k the day before. (I do not plan to race it – just finish and claim my bling.)
I already have a roommate, hotel and flight. This is real!!
So stay tuned…we’re reuniting and even adding more cool bloggers.
3. I runfess…
I planned to take a Hot Yoga class last Saturday. I registered and paid. Plus it was a fundraiser for STEM. I went to the gym and then my friend asked me to help her with her computer. It took longer than expected. She offered me a Peruvian lunch…. Well, I didn’t make it to yoga (at least they got my money.) and then I went to the movies and had popcorn (which I never do!!) After the movie, we went out for pizza. Another fundraiser. I had to do it. So much for my healthy Saturday.

Speaking of unhealthy eating… I fell off the wagon at work. Well, maybe I was never on it. But work has been such a bore so this happened:

That being said … I’ve also been so sick of this cold weather that I have tried to pretend that despite the cold, wind and snow, it is SPRING:
post run treat on a cold day (we still have snow!)
or maybe it’s that a lot of blogger friends have been on vacation and enjoying warm weather. Serious FOMO.

My First 5K and More... 
March in Austin can be sooooo lovely. Although you never know, once in a blue moon they get a cold snap.
You won’t really be able to race Vegas, the half, either. It’s too big. But it’s fun. And flat.

No friends to stay with in Austin so I will probably race in Fla next March.
I plan to walk the 5k is what I meant. You can race Vegas. I won’t PR but I do know a few runners who actually PRed because it is flat. This trip will be about a blogger reunion and fun. Are you going?

No, the point being with that amount of runners — and walkers blocking your way — it’s not an easy race to PR. Remember, I’ve done it twice.
Yeah, I don’t buy you walking a 5k.

I’ve never run the day before a half and I don’t plan to start. We all registered for the 2:00 corral. maybe that will help with the crowd.

Tricia registered first and we all want to be in the same corral. Doesn’t mean you finish in 2 hours.

No, I don’t think I’d do that to other runners. Y’all are at least close. I’m not anywhere near that time.

Nah, still am. I think most of the runners weren’t the speedy ones. I mean, both Tricia & MB finished in the same vicinity as me, and we both know they’re a heck of a lot faster. I just like flat courses & I cannot lie.
I also don’t think it was as hot as your VCM race. Nor as hot as ZOOMA Annapolis. But still pretty darn hot.

MB & Tricia stopped numerous times for photos (and MB for a potty stop) but you are a lot faster than you used to be (and will still get even faster.)
VCM was cancelled because of the heat and humidity. It was near 90 & 90 or whatever. They have a formula where they have to cancel a race.

That’s my point. VCM was hotter. ZOOMA Annapolis, where I was 35 minutes slower, was hotter (and sunnier, and hillier . . .).
So yeah, it still comes down to race day. And the course.

Vegas is going to be fun at any pace. We just have to remember to wear the bracelet we get to claim our remix bling at the end of the half. I’m notoriously bad about remembering that.

Ooh… RnR Vegas is such a fun idea for a friends trip 🙂 I did that with a couple friends last year and we had a great time. The race itself was super crowded but still fun running down the strip at night.

Glad you are having another runblogger trip – Vegas sounds fun, although my friend who’s run it a couple of times says the hard thing is getting your eating right for a nightime race…but I’m sure you ladies will handle that just fine. And how fun to get the extra medals! I’ve run a 5K before the Houston half twice and survived – you’re a much stronger runner than me so I know you’ll be just fine with it.

ohhhh Darlene! Vegas is the race on my list (for US RnR’s)! I’m tracking flights and I’m 95% sure I’m going to go! HOW FUN! I’ll also do the 5K the day before (not racing, just a shake out) because ALL THE BLING! would definitely love to meet up with you all at some point!!
