Every Wednesday, the Deb from Deb Runs will be providing a word about which to blog. Kind of like a nice little blog prompt. Posts can be fitness or health related, but don’t have to be, so really anyone can play along. Just be sure to link up with InLinkz on Deb’s main post, and share the love by reading and commenting on other’s participant’s posts.
This week’s word is ORGANIZE.
In other words, if you want to run a 5K, you plan your runs, sign up for a race and then you make it happen.
The same goes for running a half or full marathon.
Some of us have lives that are easier to organize than others. But if it’s your dream, you prioritize things so that you achieve it.
That being said, I’m not one for official plans. But I do sign up for races way in advance and I do plan out my runs each week. Someday I will even plan out strength training and speed work.
Without a plan for your running, you have less of a chance at achieving the results that you’d like.
I realized this early on when I tried to find quickly what I wanted to wear to go out for a run or a race.
Now thanks to my stepsons moving out, I’ve taken over their dressers and organized my stuff.
Stepson #1’s room –
- drawer for socks
- drawer for running skirts
- drawer for long sleeve tops
- drawer for capris & tights
Stepson #2’s room –
- drawer for tanks
- drawer for short sleeve tops
- closet for hats, gloves and jackets
I keep my shoes in my own closet.
Tip: in all of the drawers, I roll my stuff so I see everything.
Happy Running! Are you organized? Any tips to share?
I barely have one closet . . . it’s not so easy to organize. I suppose it would be if I had less stuff.
I think you’re an extremely organized person!

Oh, you can keep more stuff in a smaller house too. It’s just more disorganized. 🙂
Oddly enough our house in TX was about the same size, but it had far more closet space. I really miss that!

I’d say my life is organized chaos! :p

I thrive on being organized, and when I’m not, or life events take it out of my hands, I get really discombobulated. Love how you’ve got so much space for your running gear now!

Oh Gosh! I’d love a free dresser (or 2!) just for all of my running gear! I have all of my running gear in the same closet (except for the socks), and everything is rolled as well.

They’re small – only 2 drawers each.

Well gosh, you’ve just given me the best idea. Kid in college? Take over their dresser! I think it’s the drawer with the tanks tops. I’m constantly digging around in it so it is never organized! And perhaps, there is a wee bit much in there? {Gasp}

I would love an additional dresser to organize my stuff. I have flat feet and have plenty of special running shoes, walking shoes, and a ton of orthotics. My running gear is taking up a lot of space. I roll things as well ever since I watched the Marie Kondo’s tidying tips. I never actually took the time to organize all my stuff that well. Someday, hopefully I will

Rolling your running clothes so you can see everything? Genius!
